This my SAD attempt at a hat cake. I learned from all my mistakes and if I ever have to do another, I know what to try next time. At least the guy I made it for seemed to like it.

This was a last minute wedding cake order I had this weekend. Kahluha fudge cake with chocolate buttercream filling, covered in fondant. Bottom tier is to look like cowhide, middle tier has a belt and replica of groom's belt buckle, and top tier is tooled leather with their monogram. Rope, knots, and buckle made from fondant.

Again one of the mini's I made for samples. All of the mini's that I have made have been fun, and helped with my using fondant.

I'm proud of myself on this one because I figured out how to sculpt a half-way decent horsie! For a little boy's western-themed party. Got the bandana idea from here on CC. Buttercream with fondant figures/items.

The cowboy hat is a chocolate cake baked in the oval pans and covered with BC and MMF. The sheet cake is 11X15 butter cake covered in BC. After several attempts on the hat band, I went back to regular fondant and my DH helped me get it rolled out ;-) The cake is for a co-workers son who is turning 7.

I was up all night making this cake...but I feel it was worth it! It was created for a western and rubber ducky themed baby shower. The men, women and children were all invited. The tables were decorated in denim with red bandana runners. In the center of the tables were mason jars, decorated with rubber ducks and filled with daisies. So, I got all the elements in the cake. It was a huge hit when I dropped it off!

My son was born in Texas so we had a cowboy theme for his 3rd birthday here in Boston. All our northern friends loved the party & the cake. I still have problems with faces, especially the mouth!

I did it! Lots of room for improvement. 3 days was not enough to dry the MMF/gumpaste brim all the way. When I turned it right-side up off the real hat (used to mold the brim) the sides flopped and cracked. Was able to hot glue it back together again, but then had to cover the brim with pink felt to hide the glue. Everything else is MMF except for the BC straw. I thought the bandanna turned out pretty good. A BIG THANK YOU TO ALL YOU PREVIOUS HAT MAKERS WHO GAVE ME SUCH GOOD ADVICE.

This is an edible image of the birthday man. They were having a cowboy sort of theme and the invitation had the bandana print and hats and boots on it so I just used them to border the cake. Thanks for looking.

This cake was for my nephews b-day. He hates fondant so everything except the plaque was buttercream. They were a cowboy theme so i tried to use a bandana to decorate and just added the farm animals made out of buttercream.

This was my first sheet cake. Chocolate and strawberry marble cake with vanilla cream, chocolate ganache, MMF fondant and BC icing. Football is fondant middle surrounded by cake, BC icing and MMF. Made as a groom's cake for this weekend's wedding. He likes the Cowboys so I tried the cowboys colors.

This was for my son's 2nd birthday. He is OBSESSED with horses, to put it mildly! I made this to resemble the Fisher Price Little People figures. He loved it! It was a 12x18 butter cake with regular buttercream icing, freehanded drawings. I was in a rush and didn't get to finish all the details, like grass, a haystack, etc., but was happy with it anyway.

This cake was inspired by Boween's Western Bridal Cake. She has never-ending talent and I love her work!!!

Cake created for a little boy turning 8 years old. He wants to be a bullrider when he grows up. His Mommy didn't want the bull bucking him though...she is scared of that! LOL!!!

Cake is covered in MMF and the bull and cowboy are made of MMF with tylose powder. Everything is edible (with the exception of the ring in the bulls nose!!)

This is the second of my 2 fair cakes. I'm pretty pleased with the end result of this one. I ended up taking the top 2 tiers off and redoing the bottom one because I didn't like the original color. Merged several ideas from other cakes I've seen and added a few of my own. Now I just heve to get them to the fair grounds next week and pray for the best.

14" double layer iced in buttercream. Cowboy hat is also cake covered in mmf. All accents mmf with silver dragees. The brim did not seem to want to dry but overall I really liked this cake. Boots were made with a chocolate mold and dusted with cocoa for an aged look. They were extremely heavy and used quite a bit of chocolate. As always, inspiration came from cc. Thanks!!!!

This is for a little boy who is turning 5 today. He likes cowboys, horses and the color red. I didn't try to do the horses out of gumpaste, I just don't think I am up to that skill level yet! :) LOL tfl!

This was for my niece who is a hick. I wasn't too happy with these. The pink color on the sheet cakes separated later. You can see the specks of pink in the frosting.

These were made to go in a cookie bouquet. The theme was "Boots & Bobos" - so the completed bouquet and pics of the "bobos" will be in the adult gallery. :-) Made for a 1st anniversary present. Sugar cookies with glaze and decorated with royal.
