Made this for a friend of my hubby's who is transfering. He is always doing something on the computer so we thought this would be a good choice for him. The keyboard is a BCT and drove me nuts. I am not too happy with how it turned out, way too much detail for the space.

My son is a Halo player so I made a FBCT of Chief, the main character in the Halo game, for his birthday cake. I smoothed the white icing with a patterned paper towel hoping it would look a bit like fabric.

Used chicklets gum for the keys on the keyboard. Baked two 12-inch cakes. Used one for the base and cut the second one in thirds to stack for the monitor. This is a varation of a cake idea that I saw in a 1988 Wilton Yearbook.

This is white almond sour cream cake with white buttercream icing and decorations. The computer keys are chiclets with numbers and letters written on with food marker. The recipient of this cake is a Computer Tech and PICNIC stands for "Problem In Chair Not In Computer". His wife ordered the cake and suggested the message. I thought it was pretty funny.

Second paid cake! 3-layer 9" cake with BC and MMF accents. Customer specified son's interests as "computers and music". Made computer and keyboard out of rice krispie treats covered in 2 layers of MMF. Customer was thrilled so I was thrilled. :)

This is the cake I ended up doing for my second class in course 1. I had to finish most of it at home but I think it turned out pretty good. This is also the first time I've ever baked a round cake or made iciing.

My dad likes to do a lot of different things, so we struggle with what type of cake to do. So, I incorporated all of the things he enjoys doing (computers, space shuttle, golf, bowling). The cake is iced smooth in buttercream and decorated in buttercream. Golf ball is made from candy clay.

This cake was for a Computer Engineering graduate.
It was a also a goodluck cake as he is going to China to teach English for a year. I also incorporated this country in the maps I used to cover the cake board. He is also into world affairs that is why I did that as well. I also used his school logo on the diploma. Everything is fondant except for the black thin wire connecting the mouse and the computer.

I made this cake for a groom that is always on his computer. The cake was served along side that wedding cake. The cake is chocolate with chocolate buttercream icing. I used a wood board for the back of the computer. I had it nailed on @ a 90 degree angle and covered in fondant. The keys are made from fondant also.

The monitor is three cakes stacked, baked in loaf pans. The mouse is a piece of cake frosted to look like a computer mouse. The keyboard cake was cut from a 11X13 sheet cake. To make the keyboard I used magic mold (safe for food) that i had bought at a craft store and molded an actual computer keyboard. I filled the mold with white chocolate and once it hardened I used black buttercream to write the letters on the keys.

This is the sheet cake that I talked about in the cake disasters area called Green Rivers. It did not do the bleeding until after I had to put it in the freezer (now I know that did not need to) and then brought it back out and it was thawing out.
I work at a computer helpdesk so the cake is supposed to look like a piece of circuit board.
