I made this for my grandmother's 86th BDay. Not real happy how it turned out but I started too late on the design. It is 4 6" cakes with a little shaved off of one side with Tahitian Vanilla BC (I don't like the flavor as much as the Mexican Vanilla--just tried something different). DH helped make the casino edible image and he wasn't getting the idea.

For my 95 year old 'Nanny'. Three cakes covered in IMBC. Each tier was made from a 9x13, cut in half and torted and sits on a board edged with wide gold ribbon. Middle tier was cut a litle smaller. Edible images for the machine images and the coins. Coins are fondant with '95' on one side and either 'Happy Birthday' or a Nan's picture on the other side. Light on top is white chocolate made in two small dixie cups attached when dry. Casino cards made of fondant with edible images. Coins on wire are foam.

This was a triple chocolate cake covered in MMF. I wound up doing the artwork on the penny all freehand then covering it with aztec copper luster dust. I think I made Lincoln look 20 years younger! This cake was for a guy that is notoriously thrifty!

White cake with fudge chocolate frosting. The straps and lock are fondant. I didn't know about this site until after I made this cake or I would have used some of the clever ideas I had seen here. So many talented artists display their cakes here.

usually cakes look better in the flesh than a picture, but in this case, the picture makes it look better than it actually was....ive NEVER been able to cover a cake perfectly coz it always rips! so i have to resort to cutting pieces (front and back) and sticking them together...i just wish i was good enough!

Made for customer who was retiring from the Navy. Wife told me he wears tie dye alllllll the time, thus the bottom tier. Some of his special moments include his Dad pinning his anchors on him so that is what you see on the front of the cake. He also had beer steins, an airplane (he worked on em) and a globe with the phrase "so there I was all boozed up in....." The top has 3 replicas oh his chiefs coin made with white chocolate and a combination of luster and highlighter dusts.

I did this one for my Dad's 60th birthday. He collects coins, especially pennies. The date on the penny is the date of birth year.
