I made this cake very simply for my daughter's first birthday. It is to match the animal crackers. I used the pre-made animal heads and tried to match the rest. I put the years on the top to represent her birthday.

This was a cake made for Camp Quality, a holiday retreat for young cancer sufferers 6 to 14 that is held every year. The theme this year was Circus. I must admit I did not make all the animals as a friend made them as she makes a beautiful job. I have a long way to go with that. See the other Camp Quality cakes in my photo.

This is my first try at an edible image cake. I think it turned out great except for the underneath icing showing thru. It was cream cheese buttercream. 1/2 of the cake was chocolate (doctored up mix) and the other 1/2 was white cake (doctored up). I poured the chocolate cake on the left side then but a foil dam in the middle and poured the white cake on the other side. Before baking I pulled the foil out so it formed into one cake.

I dont know if you know this caracter in America. In holland it is the favorit of verry small children. Baylee who I made this cake for, is a big fan of the clown and his animals.
The figurines are made of fondant.

Borrowed the idea from Wilton catalog---used a 10" round and a 1/2 ball pan. All buttercream. Next time, I would use the layered pans as described in the original instructions, but didn't have them available and the customer didn't have a preference. Turned out very cute...would work for circus/zoo theme as well. Thanks for looking!

I made it during my son's birthday. I used marshmallow fondant (easiest for beginner's, I assure you) & cocoa to achieve the chocolatey color. I used marzipan for the seal, elephant & the clown. I put 2 marzipan roses behind the clown. It's a real hit, the disappeared like magic.

Head and body were both small oval pans from the Wilton's class 2 kit. The arms and legs were cupcakes for the kids.

Here is a cake with DUmbo on top of a circus tent. I did it for a potluck at the kids preschool. No-one beleived that I made it. (Especially since my son told people we bought it at Sams Club - which i did but just the angel food cake only.) I decorated it, but didnt have time to bake it.

This cake was made using the Wilton circus cat as an inspiration. I used half of the ball pan, and the flower pan. I bought the Wilton icing from a craft store and colored (saved a ton of time). Ice cream cone for hat.

This was actually my second fondant cake ever, not first. But you can sure tell it was early on if you look at the bulging of the bottom layer! :)

This was my first time decortaing a cake! I received a lot of inspiration from everyone's pictures - thanks so much!! For the icing I used AgentCakeBaker's buttercream dream recipe. And I covered a party hat in the icing to make the tent top. It seemed to work pretty good!

I looked at brendaanne's cake and was inspired to make this. I didn't make fondant animals and just purchased plastic ones from craft store. I made the birthday sign with red foam paper and lollipop sticks. All decorated in buttercream. red fondant on end of sticks. :)
