I spent all day yesterday baking and decorating the two of these! This was my first go at character cakes and I've decided I don't want to do any more! I could have done a lot better on smoothing the white background and Cinderella's hair, but I had been stuck in that chair for over 8 hours and there were five little girls trying to stick their fingers in everything - succeeding most of the time!! These are for my nieces. They loved them, so I guess it was worth the effort.

First castle I have done...turrets are ice cream cones coated in candy, although the bottoms looked bad so I covered them again with icing "stones". Also dusted with pearl dust.

Cinderella FBCT done in a heart shape on a 10" round single layer cake. Ruffle edge was added after the FBCT was placed on the cake! The girl's mother was thrilled!

First time FBCT--it was really fun! I learned a LOT for my next try--I even decapitated Cinderella when placing it on the cake, but after hearing so much about FBCT, I just had to give it a try. I guess I'm lucky Cinderella wears a choker! For my cousin's birthday, Bettercreme icing, decorations done in buttercream. One layer of chocolate cake, one layer of yellow with a vanilla custard filling.

I did this for my neices third birthday. She saw the wilton wonder mold pan about four months before her birthday and HAD to have a princess cake. She wouldn't stop talking about it. Unfortunately it was pouring rain that day and Cinderella got a little wet on the way to the ice cream parlor. Oh well, she still loved her.

This cake was baked in a Pyrex bowl and covered in MMF. I airbrushed the fondant with pearl dust and added the lines in ivory. The wheels and accents are all in gumpaste. I didn't know how to get the gumpaste to roll out properly as I have seen on this site in other pics (letters made of gumpaste). I couldn't get a long enough piece. Any ideas would be welcome. One wheel broke beyond repair. I would probably use an edible image to do the door next time instead of painting it on.

This was done for my daughters 2nd Birthday.
This was my first time doing a FBCT. I was afraid of really smoothing out the transfer but now I am more confident.
It was done on a 12" cake.
Please be honest & tell me what you think.

This is a fbct of Cinderella. It is a chocolate cake with buttercream frosting. It is 2 9x13 cakes pushed together. The face was not easy to do, but it turned out okay. The picture of Cinderella came from a google search, not a coloring page.

I made this one and the Spiderman building that's on my picture gallery for their birthday we celebrated together so 2 big cakes for one day!! All buttercream.

It's impossible to find toppers on the island. So I try to find other items that I can use. This topper is a jewelery box I found at Kmart, and then I got the design idea off of the cinderella wrapping paper I had bought. I wanted the design to look like gold. I liked the way the cake turned out, but next time I would probably do white or something else against the pink. This cake was for my daughter's second birthday.
