Sugarpaste Poinsettia, Mahonia and Mistletoe. Made in a workshop run by Claire Webb last year at Solihull. First time I had made wired flowers using sugarpaste. I always make them with cold porcelain.

I couldn't decide if i wanted reindeer, elves, presents, snow, a sledge or a starry sky for our window display cake this year, so i broke my 'Less is more' rule and just went for all three!

I have shown this cake on a number of sites this week so for those of you that have already seen it elsewhere and may be tired of seeing it, sorry lol! This cake was one of the first major cakes I attempted and it was for a close family member's wedding a number of years ago. The wedding was in January but with the color scheme and the snowflake motif, it makes for a nice winter/Christmas style cake too, I think. The snowflakes were hand piped and then attached to the orange-flavored fondant covered cakes.
