My firends 5yr daughter and 2yr son share a birthday party and to accomodate both wishes, made the train going aroung the castle. I wasn't thrilled with the train, but I was pretty happy with the castle. It's my first 3D cake....lots of fun

My first cake made with cupcakes. I did this cake as a sample for a lady, she is a party planner for kids and wants to buy me all the cakes, but she asked me for a sample first, to see my work and to taste it. (Now I'm proud to tell that after this sample we are going to work together, yes!!!)

First time FBCT--it was really fun! I learned a LOT for my next try--I even decapitated Cinderella when placing it on the cake, but after hearing so much about FBCT, I just had to give it a try. I guess I'm lucky Cinderella wears a choker! For my cousin's birthday, Bettercreme icing, decorations done in buttercream. One layer of chocolate cake, one layer of yellow with a vanilla custard filling.

Elmo is actually made with candy melts, not cake. I used the Elmo shape pan, filled it in stages, and supported it with a cut-out cake board. The face, whites of eyes, and nose are candy melts, the black is icing. It was so much easier and quicker than making another cake. The kids were able to break off a chunk of Elmo to take home in their treat bags, too! the friends around the cake were found at the dollar store.

This was my first cake ever!!! My son wanted to have a pizza party for his 5th birthday, so I decided it would be cheaper to make a cake than to order one. I used two 8 inch yellow cakes and store bought vanilla frosting tinted light brown, red, green, grey, and black. I would love some great cake-decorating-book ideas. Thanks.

This is my first attempt at tissue fondant box cake and figures. The elephant didn't turn out the way I wanted at all but I will survive. All in all I like the cake. Giving it as a gift for a friends son's 3rd birthday. I used my pasta maker to make the fondant stripes, the fettuccini attatchment. That was fun, but time consuming.

My grandson's first birthday which was last Saturday. There is a story behind this cake; last week as you know was my first wedding cake and I had to do three others also. Well, in the mist of things I completely forgot my grandson's most important day (I know, I'm a bad grandma) his first birthday. His mom never bothered to tell me that she would need a cake for this weekend until Friday morning just when I'm getting ready to leave to go out of town for the day. So, all I could do was this simple cake.

My friend requested this cake for her daughters 4th birthday. This is the second time I made this cake. Sorry for the bad picture... The cake of the side is just an extra one I made to make sure there was enough cake for everyone..

Since everyone else seems to be posting their castle cakes, I thought I would do the same. The only part of this cake you couldn't eat were,of course, the silk flowers (because I ran out of steam) and the straight pins that hold the little fondant flags onto the turretts.

This is a Spiderman cake i did for a birthday party. The cake is a red & blue marble cake. Instead of icing the sides as the directions stated, i decided to use stars instead.

My brother asked that I make a special cake for the birthday party. I figured, since they went with a Minnie Mouse theme, I would make Mickey Mouse Ear Hat. I used the Ball pan and cardboard for the ears. I then covered the entire thing with Lemon flavored butter cream. It was a big hit. My niece had so much fun destroying it.
