Thanks for posting yours Sarabells!

I decided to make one last night for my sister's birthday she calls me "Chicken" as a nickname.

It was hard to get the head and tail stable, so I secured them with wooden toothpicks inside, just to be sure!

Pretty fun to make!

This little chicken is made from 3 'cakes' from the Wilton mini balloon pan with a mini cupcake for the head. She is sitting on a chocolate 6" nest. All buttercream except for her face and her little chick and egg beside her.

I really enjoyed making this cake, all the animal are hand sculpted using fondant, the barn is made out of gum paste and painted with gel colors and vodka. The golden cake was filled and crum coated with dulce de leche (is kind of like caramel) and covered with mmf. Thaks for looking!

I had been really sick but still wanted to make my dad a birthday cake, so I gave it a shot. It started out ok, but by the end when I was working on the rooster's face I just was too tired, so he is missing his fondant beak etc.

Ya'll Know I love the tiered cakes, but my friend didn't need that much, so I did this one. I thought it turned out so cute! Cake was Chocolate with Cookies and Cream filling and iced in buttercream. Fondant accents and characters.

11 X 15 chocolate cake iced with buttercream and fondant. The barn disintegrated when I started to ice it so I had to go to plan 'B' and make one out of cardboard and cover that with fondant. It actually turned out better than the cake version would have!

I made this cake for a friend’s husband, he raises roosters and loves to be around them, I wanted to try to make tile with fondant and this was the perfect cake to practice on. I got the idea off a cake I found here in the gallery.

Cake was iced in BC. Animals are fondant and flowers and barn are gumpaste. The smash cake animals are BC and the flowers are royal. I really enjoyed this one.

My daughter asked for a nest cake for her 6th "Bird-Day" party. She was partial to chickens because of her pet Mrs. Cluckers. The eggs were a nightmare for my husband and I because we used white "melts" that I thought were white chocolate to coat the Cadbury creme eggs, and the melts kept going lumpy. I wanted to add icing ribbons, bits of string, and flowers to look like a bird had collected them for the nest, but I ran out of time due to the above problem.

These are the fondant animals that I made for my son's 1st birthday cake which I'll be making next week. This is my first time working with fondant and I found it pretty easy - like clay only stickier!

The cow is going to be sitting in a bunch of grass so that's why he doesn't have legs. The pigs are going to be in a bit of chocolate icing (to look like mud) so that's why one doesn't have legs. I'll add the green tops to the carrots with green icing when I put them on the cake.

Made this for a friend's birthday. She's dating a poultry science professor and she's a nurse...voilà -- a chicken nurse. She LOVED it. Body is 3D ducky. Hat, nose and bow are fondant. Only thing I forgot was the stethoscope!

This was a birthday/Easter cake for a 75th birthday. He loved German Chocolate, so the basket is made out of that. Handles and flowers are royal icing.

This is a half of a sheet with buttercream icing. The animals, fence, tractor and veggies are all MMF. I had a hard time with the tractor and it didn't turn out exactly the way I wanted it but I think the animals made up for it.

This cake was so fun! It was a surprise for a friend's husband. This was a tractor like his parent's when he was growing up. They are also chicken farmers. The chickens on top and the corn on the sides were the funnest part of the whole cake!

Party favors for a barnyard theme. I have to admit, I love the cow. I sweated and sweated over how to do him, but love the way he came out.

This is on a 10" Cake. Everything is made of fondant & then painted. The picture on the TV, the rug & flag are printed on printer paper, but the rest in fondant. Got the idea from beachcakes Thanks.

This cake is actually one of my first big mistakes lol. I was trying to do a FBCTbut ended up using my star tip. then froze it, and pulled it off and laid it on the cake. The cake was a pound cake, with chocolate bc icing. It was very tasty!!! Mistakes can still taste good, I guess.

My first tiered cake. In keeping with the theme, a different flavor for each layer: snickerdoodle, chocolate pumpkin, and gingerbread. Cinnamon buttercream frosting. Decorations are fondant. Still trying to get the icing smooth!

Done for my friends 21st birthday, it was a Chicken Little theme party. Beer bottles falling from the sky instead of acorns. ( I wasn't sure if I should post it under children's cakes or not, it anyone thinks I should change it let me know.)

Farm cake done for a one-year -olds birthday. I can't begin to tell you how much work went into this cake (sometimes it sucks to have friends that ask for cakes!). All the animals & veggies are fondant. The pond is piping gel. The barn is graham crackers stuck together with royal icing, "sanded" to the appropriate shape and covered in fondant. Lots of work but well worth having a happy friend.
