I made this cake to celebrate the completion of DD's capstone class as she earns her BS in Hotel/Restaurant Management. The students ran a full-service restaurant all by themselves, twice/week for six weeks. I crafted the tools of their trade out of fondant. Clogs, chef coat, hat and pants, apron, saute pan, knife, check for a meal for 6, and a thank you to the professor on the blackboard. Chocolate cake with buttercream, covered with chocolate MMF.

This is a Basic 1-2-3-4 Cake with Dulce de Leche filling and buttercream icing - I was very excited because this was my first ever FBCT and I was so nervous it wouldn't be done right but I think it went well - My uncle is a chef and this guy looks like a caricature of him so I can't wait to give it to him this afternoon!

This was for my sister's eighteenth birthday. She wanted to have "strappy leather" on her cake.. A wierd quirky thing. ANyhow...Marshmellow fondant, and chocolate cake. It is a bit lopsided, because it didn't have enough supports, but it was a lesson for next time!

This cake was for a friend's co-worker. The chef where she works is having a baby and they call him Stewie (from Family Guy). The thing on Stewie's head is supposed to be a chef hat. The decorations on the side of the cake are plastic shower favors that I bought and put on with piping gel.

This was a Christmas birthday where John was studing to become a chef.
The bacon & eggs on the platter were made of almost cooled white choc in the form of a blob on parchment paper, quickly add 2 yellow M&M's label side down & a pretzel stick broken in 1/2 & there's your bacon & eggs.

The little girl I made this cake for loves Barbie Fairtytopia. The Barbie was her birthday gift. I just wrapped the buttom of her in plastic wrap to keep her from getting nasty. I used the Pampered Chef batter bowl to make the
cake. I put the bowl cake on top of an 8 inch round cut to size.

Cupcake shaped pan frosted w/BC then cover in MMF. The roses are also MMF. My second oldest daughter had a chef party for her 6th b-day. The kids made their own pizzas and even got to try their hand at decorating cupcakes with various colored frostings and tips. What fun watching the next generation of cake decorators!

My mom was at a Pampered Chef party putting this cake together. She actually dipped the utensils in chocolate. As the hostess was demonstrating her products, the apple peeler, my mother would go over and snatch the "discards" off her table. The people at the party ended up paying more attention to her than the cooking demo. At first she was a little ticked but they ended up working together. She has already ordered another cake from her. Next time she will use wood utensils.

Best friend's birthday cake. She graduated from prof. chef program that I'm enrolled in next month and works in a big hospital kitchen now (dishes piling up are an inside joke on top of the 'not all washed up yet' - left lemon cake in loaf pan to look like commercial sink. Blue lemon jello on top for water. Dishes are Toba Garrett fondant. 'not all washed up' etc black BC. Thanks for looking!

I get to make two birthday cakes for myself this year, this one's for work, off their tomorrow because of the long weekend, most folks are taking Friday as well for an extra long weekend. It's brownie cake skirt, and a 6 inch white mud for height. Airbrushed fondant dress, fondant apron with fondant accessories, and a monogramed cake. I even put a smudge of chocolate on her mouth, because that's how I usually look after baking, smudges and chocolate on my mouth giving the tasting gremlin away!

The chef is going on top of a cake which will be decorated w/ veggies and greenery. He's not quite done, just needs a towel in one hand and turkey platter in the other! It is a surprise for a culinary student who will be home for thanksgiving.
