This is a cake I made for my neighbour who is also my daughters physio assistant who puts my daughters casts on every three months... This is the first time I have hand modelled, (my last model, I used a wilton mould) I also did the first royal icing in a long time... the cake is fondant covered with roral icing decoration, The pearls are fondant, the little girl is fondant... the little black things by the chair are plaster shoes that my daughter wears so she can walk around on her plasters...

First time with MMF. A little girl wanted a picture of a Lazy Boy on her birthday cake. So, I thought I'd try this out instead.

I made this out of rich fruit cake. The seat of the chair was a whole 8 inch fruit cake, the arms of the chair was made from a 4 inch fruit cake cut in half, and the backrest of the arm chair was made from a square 4 inch fruit cake and a round 4 inch fruit cake. I cut the round in half and placed eitherside of the 4 inch square cake to make the backrest rounded at the corners. This cake was a replica of a friends favourite chair, so was the cat!!

I made this cake in addition to the wedding cake. I set it on the head table and they didn't know about it until they sat down. They loved it (so did the wedding party!).

This cake was copied out of a Wilton Yearbook. They no longer sell the original candles but I found some similar ones at a party store. The accents are made from half gumpaste half mmf. The hat and bear are hand molded mmf/gumpaste. Royal icing drop flowers add a border. I had issues with the chairs and table standing up straight. I also think I would have done a quilted table cloth if I could.

This cake gave me fits!! Just before I put dowels through the house it fell OFF the 8" cake! Aaaahhh! Thank God for crusting BC, it was actually repairable without too much trouble. The images at the bottom of the pic were around the 8" cake, all drawn freehand directly on the cake. I have a Joe & Blue candle for in front of the house too.

I made this cake not long after having started cake decorating and it's still one of my favorites. Pound cake decorated with fondant. I love all the colors and I always wonder what the two of them are talking about when I look at the pictures :)

This cake is for a neighbor who buys and sells antique furniture. My first chocolate transfer. Thanks to Doug for his help! Too tired after a trip and not happy with the rest of the cake. Cream cheese frosting melting with humidity and hate my writing!

I made this cake for my daughter's very 1st birthday!!! It took no time at all and I think most of the time was spent baking and cooling the cakes and constructing the high chair.

This was my very first cake for profit! Done for the baby shower of a wife of a pro football player. Though you can't see it, I did sculpt a mini football and placed it in the crib as a nod to dad. The crib, rocking chair and wall (incl. chair rail & waincoting) are gumpaste. The bear, mom, quilt, rug and curtains are fondant. The cake is covered in fondant. Top is chocolate cake with raspberry mousse; bottom is coconut white cake with mango coconut mousse.

Ever since our daughter got her Minnie Mouse doll (sometime around Valentine's Day) we've always celebrated with cake and candles. This year she wanted two of her other stuffed buddies to be ON the cake - so I made a chair cake covered in fondant with two little fondant pillows for her friends to lean against, and a matching fondant blanket. Minnie LOVED it!

This cake was for a retired interior decorator's birthday. Her 'tools" are in the basket next to the chair and now its time to relax. The chocolate cake is covered in fondant with bc layered thru-out. The board is also covered in fondant and the rug, basket and pillow are fondant. The tools are actually candles.

The most fun I have ever had making a cake - immortalising my mum and my son in sugarpaste! A huge thanks to the fantastic Aine2 for her help and advice.

This is the final cake (I have posted the first also). Some changes - we have the "cedar" adirondack chair, the umbrella, some airbrushed waves, seafoam writing....everyone RAVED about the cake! :) It made it all worthwhile! However, nobody noticed that the icing had started to droop on the side a little...because I shoved a fondant shell right on top of that spot! :P Ahh, the things you learn to cover! Very sorry I had posted the wrong photo before.

I showed a close up of the grandad and wee girl previously. This is the complete cake. I was asked to add a little beard to the man which I did although I have to say I liked the design without it! Not my cake though so I just do what I am told! The man is a GP hence the bag!

I made this for our annual Labor Day trip. It's a recreation of a place we go each year. Yellow cake - BC/fondant. I used pretzel rods and waffle cones for the trees (fill the inside of the cones with icing so they'll stay in place).

I made this for my boss's birthday. He loves M&M!! He also wears suspenders everyday and sits with his feet up on his desk and his arms behind his head. :) It is all chocolate cake. I used a 10 x 10 pan for the chair and stool and cut it per Debbie Brown's instructions, although much bigger. I used half of the ball pan for the M&M and covered it all in MMF. The legs and arms are fondant as well. I thought those little legs would get up and run away! :)

I work for an advertising agency called Red Chair Marketing, and this was our dessert for our holiday party.

This was butter pecan cake w/ buttercream and EVERYONE just kept going on and on about how delicious it was. Tasted like pancakes, but even better. Even the employees at the restaurant loved it.

First time using candy melts, which is what I used for the chair. I added shimmer dust to the chair to dress it up a little, and added cake sparkles to the holly leaves.

This little fella sat on top of my 84 1/2 birthday cake (in my photos). Thank you aine2 for your help with him! He is made out of fondant and gumpaste. The chair is completely gumpaste with a fondant covering. He is holding a cigar in one hand and a remote control on the other. I painted an image of the NBC logo on the TV, but you can't see it from this angle (he worked with NBC). He also has a newspaper lying by the side of the couch. I was pleased with how he came out.
