I had so much fun with this cake. The cake itself was 6 half round cakes made out of the sports ball pan. They were covered with fondant and sprayed with food coloring. The cake board was about 3 feet long, covered with buttercream and bordered with b.c grass, a red b.c shell border, and a fondant sun.

This was for my son’s 1st birthday.
The large caterpillar was made using the Wilton sports ball and frosted w/ bc icing using 18 star tip. The antennae are Tootsie Pop suckers and fondant was used for eyes, cheeks, and smile.
The smaller caterpillar used for the smash cake was made w/ the Wilton mini ball pan.
Cupcakes are frosted w/ bc using 1M tip and have musical note pics from Country Kitchen.

This cake design was inspired by a Sugar Creations cake. It is a 6" and 8" iced in buttercream with fondant accents. This cake was for my nephews first birthday and his favorite Baby Einstein puppet is the dog, so that is why I put the dog on top.

I made this for my Step-daughter's 17th birthday. It's buttercream icing- my usual stucco design because I don't have the patience to make it super smooth. Buttercream grass and flowers and gumpaste caterpillar. The butterfly has gumpaste wings and a fondant body. Painted with lusterdust/lemon extract.

Inspired by the book The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle. This cake was for my daughters pre-school graduation. The class performed the "play" and then each got their own butterfly to eat! (antennae not edible). It was a big hit!

I was inspired for this birthday cake from all of you at CakeCentral. I used the ball cake pan and made a different cake/filling flavor for each cake. Spice cake/pumpkin filling, chocolate cake/PB filling, vanilla cake/chocolate pudding filling, strawberry cake/banana pudding filling. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I took this idea from Claudine1976 after being asked on Friday night to make a smash cake for a baby's first birthday. The baby was coming to a 90th birthday party that I was making a cake for the next day. Her caterpillar was adorable so I gave it a shot.

This was my first attempt at cake decorating. It is all fondant. I have never had any classes, but I really learned a lot while making this cake. My frogs look like weird aliens, and of course there were several wrinkles in the fondant. I can't wait to try it again!

First stacked cake for my daughter's first birthday. Turned out pretty good, but it took forever to bake and put everything together... Must get more pans and larger oven! Top and bottom layers are carrot, middle is double chocolate. Cake is decorator cream cheese icing found on this site and MMF decorations ( also a first for these!) Thanks so much for looking!
