I took the easy way out with the shaped pan and star tips. Too many other cakes going on to make a special castle cake.

This was my first attempt at a theme cake. It was for my daughter's 5th birthday party. We search the web and many books to finally come up with a cake she liked. We used sugar cones for the spires, Fruit-striped gum for the flags, and pink ice cream cones for the bottom of the towers. It was a hit and she still remembers it!!

I made this for my daughter's 5th birthday. She asked for a pink and purple cake and she got it. It is covered in BC. I never thought this size of cake would take me what I thought was an eternity but it was worth it when I saw her face. Precious.

I was sooo excited to do this cake. Inspiration came from this site, of course! Mishaps baking the cakes, they kept falling - almost pulled my hair out. Covered in BC. I used wilton's recipe for the filling, but ran out of butter. I didn't have any flavorings and it was a little too Crisco tasting for me. Tried out the dream whip BC recipe (off this site) and loved it. Towers are paper towel rolls with upside down waffle cones covered lightly in purple sprinkles. Roses are BC made a few days ahead.

I made this last year for my daughter's 4th birthday. It was very important to her for Cinderella to be wearing Snow White's dress and for Snow White to be wearing Cinderella's dress. Hey, it was her cake, so I made it exactly as ordered!

This is a wedding cake that was custom made for a Medieval themed wedding. At the bride and grooms request, the bottom layer is German Chocolate with traditional German chocolate filling and Chocolate Buttercream icing. The top layer is Carrot Cake with Cream Cheese icing.

The exterior decorations are made of fondant, royal icing, and buttercream icing. The entire cake is enhanced with shimmer dust to give it an iridescent glimmer.

For a 1st birthday. Castle has a cobblestone impression but it's hard to tell in this photo. All buttercream. Towers made from PVC pipe and turrets are sugar cones.

This cake was freakin'huge! This is a Disney Princess cake for my neice's 6th birthday. The towers are papertowel and toiletpaper rolls covered in MMF. The tops of the towers are sugar cones. The cakes are 2 1/2 sheet cakes stacked on the bottom in chocolate, the top is 2 yellow round 7" cakes. The flowers are all MMF and the entire cake is iced in bettercreme.(Yea...I know! But that's what she wanted and I didnt have to make it!) I had a blast doing this cake. It was so much fun!

This is my daughter's 5th b-day cake. She had to have a purple one and we were having a princess party and this is what I came up with. It took me over 7 hours. I made this after completing course 1. She loved it and the look on her face was PRICELESS!!!! Best 7 hours I have ever spent just to make her happy..LOL

I made this cake for my niece's 1st Birthday. The "sand" is crushed vanilla wafers. Most of the toys I found at the dollor store, plus she got to use the toys in her new sandbox. The water is blue gel.

This is my 2nd attempt at Harry Potter Castle. I like this one so much better, b/c I think my 1st one looked like a space ship. I still need to match colors up better, but am pleased overall.

This was for my second daughter's first birthday. She's our little princess and deserved a fairy castle! This was taken from a book I own and some pictures at the site.

Thanks for looking,

First castle I have done...turrets are ice cream cones coated in candy, although the bottoms looked bad so I covered them again with icing "stones". Also dusted with pearl dust.

This was for a little girls' first birthday, the bottom layer and top 'baby' layer was white with almond buttercream, the middle layer was chocolate with strawberry filling. The 'towers' were paper towel rolls and ice cream cones covered in fondant. Stone impression mat to give texture, purple luster dust for tops of towers. Fondant banner and flag.

Thanks to all with Castle Cakes for my inspiration. This was my first stacked cake. What a job that is. I used buttercream all over. The hardest part was the frosting the paper towel rolls. I used a toothpick to "etch" (yeah right that doesn't work too well) stone all over and it took me two hours. I didn't have the cool tool that some of you talked about in your photos. I was short on time, I need to plan better, and didn't do a very good job on the flowers. But the little girl I made it for loved it.

I made these for my twin girls who just had their 2nd Birthday Party. Turrets and tiara are MMF, window pictures are cello favor bags cut to size. Buttercream decorations and gumpaste roses. Cakes are (6inch) vanilla with chocolate ganache and (8inch) chocolate with Oreo cookie cream filling.

This is a small castle for my niece's birthday. It's one layer cut in half and then a half round cut into quarters. The icing is chocolate--my niece doesn't like "girly" things and wanted a real castle color..........
