This is the first birthday cake I ever made. It was for my daughter's 1st birthday. The cake was made during a heat wave and I thought the icing would melt faster than I could put it on.

I did this for my neice's baby shower, she is crazy about the Pooh bear. Because she had so many people, I had to do a Pooh sheet cake also.

This cake was originally supposed to have tiny pictures of the 1-yr old on the sides but my printer broke! The customer stacked the cake herself and knocked off most of the pink stars on the top boarder, but they didn't care. I also lent them my turntable so the carousel would spin.

Carousel cake I made. Flowers are fondant and butterflies are color flow. No top on cake as recipient had her own topper to be placed upon delivery.

I saw this idea in the wilton year book. when I got to the store, they had no more seperators, so I had to make my own. the cake almost toppled over, but it managed to last long enough to get cut and eaten

Winnie outside sitting in the grass. I made ladybug, bumblebee, butterfly and dropflowers around Winnie. On the carousel, I placed baby Tigger and Egnore in the grass with dropflowers also. The small cake was his smash cake.

This cake was a true labour of love. It was for my eldest daughter's first birthday and I wanted to capture all the whimsy and fancifulness of childhood. It was decorated with rose and purple fondant. The bottom layer was chocolate with caramel filling and the top was white cake with toffee cream filling.

I made this cake for my cousin's daughter. She was having a pony themed party. Made the ponies out of sugarpaste, let them dry and then flooded them in with royal icing. The cake is covered in buttercream, with sugarpaste stars. The cake is a buttercake, with a coconut syrup and caramel and cream filling. A family favourite. Both cakes baked in 14inch pans (3inch high) top carved to achieve shape. Lots of scraps left for tasting : )

Didn't turn out as I had hoped, but my 3 year old went nuts over it for her pony/carousel themed birthday party. I wanted to do a fondant "big top' on the top of the cake for the carousel look, but Taylor insisted on cupcakes....she's the boss! worked out that each child had a cupcake & the parents devoured the cake. Bottom cake is a dummy.

This is the second cake I ever made. It was for my youngest daughters 2nd birthday. I must have turned my wrist or something because my border was not the same all the way around. If you look close you can see where some little fingers got to it pre-party.

I used the "Wilton" horse pan, and marked out the saddle, blankets, straps, etc for the horse, and then piped it in. The carousel pole is a plastic dowel, covered in the gold foil and then stuck into the cake.

I was asked to do a 'Welcome shower' cake for a little girl (16 mos.) being adopted from China. I got to choose any design I wanted, and this carousel design was something I've been wanting to do. They wanted a cake just for the baby, since they're fairly certain she never had a 1st birthday party, so that's what the miniature cake up on top is for. LOTS of work on this cake, but it's one of those that I look at and think, "Wow, I did that!" Thanks for looking!

I had so much fun with this one! I finally got to use the carousel horse separator. I tried to follow the cake on the box as much as possible. I'm surprising my daughter with the cake this afternoon. The cake itself is Devil's Food (Cake Mix Doctor Recipe), Crushed Peppermint White Chocolate Buttercream Filling (to die for!!!!) and buttercream icing. The roses are royal. The topper is one that I made out of modeling clay so that she can keep it. She loves horses!

This is wiltons new Carousel Horses Separtor Set. I made this just for fun, it is done in fondant and buttercream icing. the bottom separator plate sits on top of bottom cake, so I used the fondant so the plate could be removed hopefully without removing the icing. This was a fun cake to make,I think my Grandchildren will really like it .

This was my daughter's 1st birthday cake. Her theme was fairytale unicorns. I made this carousel because I wanted a good challenge. The bottom tiers are cake, the carousel top is styrofoam, fondant and royal icing, the unicorns are royal icing on dowels.

This was my first tiered cake - my sister had a circus party for my niece and wanted a carousel. I learned ALOT from my mistakes on this cake! I am really proud how it turned out. My sister loved it but more importantly so did my niece - all she could think about was pulling one of the cones off the top to eat! Thanks for looking!

I saw a version of this cake on the Wilton website and wanted to make it for my sister's baby shower. Everything is done in buttercream. I put his name in the blocks on the bottom tier. I had little clothes pins and bottles in the blocks on the back of the cake.

I did this cake for my 2 girls, who one has turned 2 and the other is turning 4. Both in the month of October. I decided on a carousel cake. I made the design myself. I used fondant icing to make the roof, horses, and the panels around the top cake. This is just a tiered cake with buttercream icing and silver luster dust accented on the roof and horses. It was alot of work, but I an very happy with the way it turned out.

This cake was for a little girl's 1st bday, ordered by her Grandma. There was a smash cake to go with it, but nothing fancy so I left it out of the picture. The cake is decorated in BC except for the fondant 'plaque' that the writing is on. The cookies are NFSC, covered w/airbrushed fondant and ACI details. I undercharged for this cake, but it was so much fun, I just kept wanting to add 'a little more'!

My first vegetarian cake. Eggless cake made with recipe from CC. Elephants are eggless semolina cookies decorated with poured cookie icing. Cake decorated with BC and Smarties (similar to M&M's). Cake inspired by a design in the Wilton 2007 year book.

This cake was for a very good friend of mine-her first baby shower. It is 2-10"cakes on the bottom layer, a carousel cake plate from Michael's (which I re-painted the horses to look more masculine)and then a half soccer ball cake pan for the top. It's all buttercream icing. I really enjoyed making this cake, and please send feedback or questions my way. I got this idea from a cake I found a few months ago on this website (with a few alterations).
