My son is going to his first birthday party sleepover, so I made him these cookies to take along. I should have used a smaller tip for the eyes. They look a little buggy, like aliens.

12" Round. All BC, but trees. I should have used MMF for slleping bags and people, but not enough time.

This was my 2nd attempt at the camping cake. I added the snakes to this one, and was more pleased, but still did not use the MMF.

All BC except for fondant boy and tent. Icecream cone pine trees. Notice my other camping pics. This one is so much better because of everything I have learned on CC in the last month. Thanks for all the great ideas!

I made this cake in less than an hour (after baking). I was asked at the last minute to make a cake for a man that likes the mountains, fishing and camping. This is what I came up with from what I could find in the home.

I stayed up until 1 am working on this one with my husband. It did not turn out as nice as I had wanted, but I think it was still somewhat cute. The guy to whom it was designated loved it, and we have about 3 orders out of it, but still....it was one of those "learning experience" cakes. :)

Chocolate 2-layer oval cake with whipped chocolate buttercream. I used the rolled buttercream icing recipe I got from this site for the figures and it DOES taste like candy corn..YUM. Sugar cone trees and royal icing.

My version from the Wilton 2005 yearbook. This is a 1/4 sheet cut to shape. Camping scene with tent, sleeping bag & pillow, campfire, boy, trees (bird on top and nest in one tree), dock and swimmers.
Piping gel water, graham cracker tent, sugar cone trees, pretzel firepit.

This is my version of a similar cake I found on the web. It won me a blue ribbon at the fair last year.

This is a chocolate cake w/ chocolate buttercream per my dad's request. I did this cake for his 60th birthday. Our family enjoys camping and I thought this was perfect. While we were out to dinner my brother's dog decided she wanted cake and ate about 1/3 of the cake! What a mess, thankfully I took a photo before.

This was for a rehearsal dinner. The couple enjoyed camping, so there you go. I shaped the boots, logs, and fishing poles out of tootsie rolls. I snipped a starburst candy with scissors, and painted on red gel color for the fire. Could've been better had I not been in a rush!

I made this just a few days ago, for my son's 8 yr birthday & my step-son's 9 yr birthday. I decided to combine their birthdays this year, and prevent the wasting of cake. The loved this cake. My son said, he noticed something new everytime, he looked at it. This cake took me 8 hours from start to finish, and was a challenge. Thought it would be easy, but it was difficult. I didn't think it was gonna turn out as beautiful as it did. I cried when I cut it because it took me so long to decorate.

I decided to do make this cake because every year, my husband and I, and my father-in-law, take our two boys up to a river in Norther Michigan camping. So, I recreated our campsite on the cake, along with my father-in-laws red boat and all the fish we catch. I made the 5 of us into Teddy Bears, and put one of the boys next to the campfire, roasting marshmallows. The other boy, I stuck back by the tent, as that they love to run in and out of the tents.

This is a bridal shower cake I did for a couple that were crazy about camping. I used pretzel sticks for the fire wood, split wafer cookies for the tent and upside down waffle cones for the trees, everything else is buttercream and piping gel.

I toaste some marshmallows(2-3 at a time) and broke off the sticks to all be about the smae height. This is a chocolate cake, buttercream icing with crushed graham crackers pressed on the sides and chocolate shavings on the top. The toasted marshmallows are held onto the sides with a bandana. The "fire" is just layered cardstock(i didnt have time to brainsotrm an edible fire but i will next time!)

This was for all of the fathers in my family. Since they all like to camp, I thought I would do this for the theme on the cake. For the trees I used ice cream cones and bc frosting. This is my first contest entry!

This I made for my kids preschool. It celebrated it's 40th birthday yesterday and I also had to incorporate the teacher who is leaving for retirement after 27 (!) years. She a real ourdoorsy person!
It's as always all fondant - the little person on the front is the schools logo!

Thanks to Swoboda & KGunn for your trailer-themed cakes. They were very inspirational in creating my version!

I used 2 loaf pans of pound cake to make the trailer, covered in white chocolate fondant (purchased) and detailed with my trusty Americolor pens. Used the chocolate wafers of 2 Oreo cookies to make the wheels....and I ate the icing filling for energy! haha

Bottom cake is 12" x 18" Carrot Cake filled with Maple-Pecan Buttercream. Path stones are fondant & campfire is a Cadbury Flake choc bar.

This was done for a bridal shower that was going to take place in the Adirondacks in upstate New York. Everything on the cake was edible with the exception of the yellow forcithia flowers (the bride to be's flowers for her wedding) The mountains and the canoe were made from fondant that I painted with chocolate and the rocks were edible candy. The boat carried a miniature wedding dress and rings.

This cake was made to celebrate 3 birthdays and it was based on a camping trip at the beach that the families do every year. They camp at the beach and play volleyball and "Do the dune" which is hiking up a huge sand dune.

This cake was for a co-worker. Her family was visiting so they celebated all the birthdays. They're building a ranch hence the "Wolf Run" wolf in front of the trees. This was a half chocolate and half yellow cake with buttercream. The trees were ice cream cones and royal frosting. The campers and the fire were MMF. The rocks were also MMf. It was fun and she really liked it.

This is a hunting themed birthday cake that I made. The sides of the cake are mmf. I marbled it together to make it look like camo. The tent was actually something I made with cardboard and dowel rods and then covered with the same fondant. The deer and leaves are also made of fondant and the trees are florist wire covered with brown florist tape. It sure was alot of fun making this cake and everyone really enjoyed it.

This is for 2 twin brothers who adore fishing and camping. I used broken pieces of Cadbury Flake chocolate bar for the fire's "logs", jelly beans for the campfire "rocks", raw brown sugar for the campfire "sand" and plastic fish/trees/pop cans. The "tent" cake is about 7" tall and 12" long in fondant.
