This is my son's 3rd birthday party (he had a Thomas cake) I made this with one hand after I got home from the emergency room. While making the icing for this cake, I accidently stuck a butcher knife thru my left hand. Thank goodness I am right handed but this will be a birtday for the scrapebook!!!

Fun Cake to make for someone who wanted something different than the traditional seashell tropical cake. Couple was getting married in Fiji and this was for their reception. Palm Trees were molded and dried for a week or two ahead of time, as well as the top of the hut...Flowers in side were of gum paste and lay on the island shape; fish and reeds decorated right on cake.

This was the cake that was suppose to have been done the weekend Rita hit Louisiana. All the flowers I had made, melted from the heat when we lost power. I got a call late Monday telling me the wedding was rescheduled for this Friday. The bows made previoussly from fondant had fallen didn't look right. I didn't realize it so I had my sister make bows from ribbon and used on the corners of the cake. The flowers are made from gumpaste and centers were brushed with magenta luster dust.

This is a wedding cake for my sister-in-law. Her colors were orange and white. She's a big UT fan. The frosting is all BC.

This was for my daughter's fifties theme birthday. Used the pampered cheff glass mixing bowl for the cake skirt. Was thrilled when I found a jukebox candle go with it!

As the final practical for my Wedding Cake class I had to make a wedding cake. The cake is actually a dummy cake which is styrofoam. the cakes are covered in fondant and decorated with royal icing lace points and brushed embroidery. I made the calla lilys out of gumpaste and petal dusted the colors on. The board is also covered in fondant and crimped. Enjoy and let me know what you think!

This is a styrofoam practice cake for and upcoming wedding. I wasn't too happy with the smoothness of the icing. I wrapped the cake dummies is plastic wrap before icing with royal icing. the plastic started to pucker a bit. I plan to make one more practice cake before the big day in May

These roses are made out of royal icing and they are actually a very pretty purple. In every pic they show up blue. I don't know why.

Yellow cake with class BC icing...my instructor showed me how to ice the cake smoothly without too many crumbs when I was about half-way through icing this one...Hehe! Not too good at the roses yet...definitely like the victorian roses better (they're more forgiving)

These are white and chocolate cakes covered with BC icing. They are topped with a square of white MMF imprinted with a edible ink baby foot print (I used a stamp bought at the craft store in the scrapebooking area). These took forever. I made a 9x13 cake and cut into squares, they were hard to ice without a bunch of crumbs and I won't volunteer this anytime soon!

This is a cake I made for my friends 25th birthday. I used a bowl and a sheet cake. 240 gumballs lol. I used chocolate cake for the bowl shape and white cake for the sheet. It was so huge and heavy we had to put it on the dry erase board. The frosting is butter cream. The cake was gone before we left. It was a hit. Later I found out Wilton sells a pan for this.

Made this cake over the weekend for my lovely MIL. She loved it! I wasn't too crazy about the paint job, and with exception to the zipper, liked the details. Too much work though and don't think I'll be doing it again any time soon!

This was my 1st attempt at a FBCT. It didn't turn out so well, but I learned a lot in the process. Any suggestions are welcome.

This was my 2nd attempt at a cupcake cake. I didn't figure too well on my spacing though :) I had to curve and split up birthday. I used cookie cutters for my letter shapes. It was simple and fun though. I used butterscotch cupcakes from the Cupcake Doctor book. Yummy!!

Made this for my Wilton Course 3 Final Cake. Made some Fondant Roses/Leaves on floral wire (like a bouquet of Roses). Added some Easter Lilies around the cake. Used a Cream Cheese Icing on this one... not a good idea when weather temperature is hot outside. Seemed like it was melting off the cake :D ... but it tasted yummy!

This was my 3rd wedding cake. The bride found a pictures of this cake somewhere online, wish I could remember where she found it. Of course the original cake was all white. This 4 tier cake is all white cake with b/c icing. Black fondant around the bottom layers. Couldn't get my royal icing monogram to turn out right after 4 tries. So had to free hand the monogram. Still having trouble getting everything smooth after assembly. I guess it was o.k. though, the bride loved it.

Sheet cake with a fondant Doctor's bag on top. I took a sheet cake & cut it into 3 parts & layered them, then froze it & carved & crumb coated while frozen. Then covered in fondant. I painted it while still thawing so the fondant was wet & the brush marks showed. I thought it turned out well. Bought a chocolate mold of doctor's equipment & used fondant pressed into it for the tools.

This was a rum cake, one layer of chocolate filling, the other vanilla, with butter cream frosting-small backyard wedding-cake modeled after one seen in the brochure of the fancy-shmancy bakery I worked for-not quite as perfect as theirs but I was pleased. Bride had the topper done by her florist & I arranged the bottom layer of flowers by placing a small round board down first, then gobbing up a pile of BC & using it to anchor the stems.

My friend wanted a cake for a couple's Baby Shower. She handed me a blue polka-dot napkin and said they are both music instructors and told me to come with something. I incorporated musical notes on the sides and on the quilt as well as polka-dots on the quilt. It it a yellow cake with 2 - 2" layers and Buttercream Icing.

The cake is not crooked, just the photographer, me! Iced in buttercream, handmade gumpaste lilies and roses. The bride changed the reception colors without telling me, but it blended nicely with the decorations. Phew!
