Picnic Chocolate Cake, Chocolate BC, single layer, gumpaste rose....literally a throw-together for my niece's birthday! Used what I had on hand...which should remind me how important a stash of flowers is! LOL She loves K-State...thus the plate that doesn't match the cake!!!

This is a chocolate cake w/ chocolate buttercream per my dad's request. I did this cake for his 60th birthday. Our family enjoys camping and I thought this was perfect. While we were out to dinner my brother's dog decided she wanted cake and ate about 1/3 of the cake! What a mess, thankfully I took a photo before.

My husband just started a new job 2 weeks ago, and they heard that I do cakes. They now want to order a cake from me for every birthday in the office. There are approx. 15 employees! This is the already the 2nd cake that I have done for them. It is a 9" round white cake with chocolate BC filling and BC icing. It was quick and easy. I do struggle with coming up with ideas for men's cakes, but I think this will work.

Thanks for looking!

This is a pound cake with cream cheese in the mix. Ymmmmm.
It is also my first attempt at using the "chocolate paper." With a layer of buttercream frosting under the chocolate paper. The decorations are the chocolate paper and buttercream frosting.

I had two cake tastings on one day, and thought I'd do it with cupcakes... I put different fillings in each, with three different cakes... I put a symbol on top so I'd know what filling was in each.

This was the second cake done for my son's 3rd birthday. Banana cake and chocolate whipped frosting star tip#16 used. Cracker pan idea from wilton. This one my mom loved. She said it was like eating a real banana. And the scent of the frosting was wonderful.

This cake was designed by the birthday boy, who was very specific about what he wanted. The robots are his plastic toys and the chocolate cake and icing was made red with the spray stuff and red sprinkles. The nuts and bolts are candy that the mother found at a party store.

Thanks to Kanelli for sending me the "how to" magazine article, I was able to make this cake in time for the party yesterday (along with a Thanksgiving cake and the Flames Baseball Cap cake). The two brothers (not twins) loved their birthday cakes. I know I need practice, but it was fun to do. The ball came out badly, but.........
The cake is chocolate fudge from this site and filled with a peanut butter filling (delicious) and covered in chocolate MMF.

This couple wanted something lighthearted to please the kids who would be there as well as be something different. White chocolate suckers with sayings on them like the "conversation hearts" you get at Valentine's day fit right in. It was hard for the kids to keep their hands off the suckers until after the cake was cut!

This is my not so hot attempt at a dog cake. It was supposed to be a Malenois puppy( which is the kind of police dog that the mom of these kids works) But they have short hair and I tried making it look fuzzy yet short but I think I should have done something with fondant instead. Anyway the dog is carrot cake w/crm chs frstng and MMF accents. The pillow is choc/ choc MMF. The bowl is also carrot, which is for the 1 yr old twins smash cake and they share the birthday with their 2 yr old bro. Crazy Huh?!?

First tier was cherry chip, second was french vanilla with extender recipe, bottom tier was marble. All layers were torted and spread with "chocolate ganache". (Thanks to all that helped out on my forum post on Friday night with the gananhe). Than the cake was covered in chcolate fondant and dotted with royal icing. This cake is a replica of the cake on the cover of Martha Stewart Weddings Fall 2006. Thanks again to all CC members for your help!
