I made brownies for a Birthday Potluck at work. I had just read about buttercream transfers and wanted to try a simple design out to practice for a Barney Birthday cake later. I let it freeze overnight, but some of it still stuck to the wax paper. I think my icing was too thin. I still liked the results though.

Based on an idea from Martha Stewart, these brownies are constructed to build mini wedding cakes and dusted with confectioner's sugar. Roses are white fondant, painted in orchid luster.

I volunteered to make a cake for my daughter's bridging. I'm not too bright...I made a wedding cake for the day before. Anyway, this is half chocolate/half vanilla iced in buttercream, with fondant emblems, painted with luster dust and brown food color paste. By the time it came to write, my hands were shaking and it looks like it. Plus, the green basketweave isn't my best work. In my defense, I (again, not too bright) was decorating this in a travel container that had a pretty deep lip on it.

My daughter and her Troop will be Bridging from Daisies to Brownies Tomorrow (06-11-06).

Made the cake for their celebration. It's a French Vanilla with Buttercream Icing.

Around the cake I put their Troop # and all of their names (9 of them).

This cake was decorated during a power blackout. Since it was too dark to color icings to make decorations, I used various fruit snacks and assorted colored Tootsie Rolls to make the burger toppings. The bun cakes were covered in rolled fondant and airbrushed. The burger was a big, fat fudge brownie.

So here it is in all its final glory. 128 2x2in fudge brownies all decorated with chocolate fudge icing and 50% topped with white chocolate shavings and 50% topped with crushed white and milk chocolate malt balls. Top cake was a 6in chocolate fudge cake topped with crushed malt balls, white chocolate shavings and chocolate sauce. Lustre dusted white chocolate malt balls and white chocolate monogram to finish it off. A close-up of the top cake is in my gallery if you want to see it better!

I took the average brownie and ran with it. Why do brownies have to be square anyway?

These were so much fun to make! Brownie Troop with their badges all in RI. Each cookie had the girls individual names along with their hair color, about 30 girls in total. I did these same one for a Girl Scout Troop.

I saw these on Martha Stewart's website and thought they were so cute. So, of course I had to give them a try. :-) Brownies cut with round cutters, dusted with powdered sugar, stacked with a toothpick through the center. Then I added little hearts made from candy melts to the top to cover the hole. They would make a great favor.

I did this brownie cake for a couple who didn't like cake, but loved brownies. It's three different kinds of brownies, four layers each (I had to bake each layer because as you know chewy brownies don't rise), a 12", 10" and 8" iced in chocolate buttercream. It was one heavy cake but the couple loved it and so did the guests, especially the little ones.

In addition to the brownie wedding cake, I did two strawberry cakes (the pink ones), a carrot cake (giner), white with raspberry filling (ivory) and a plain white (ginger). I thought it made for a really pretty cake table. and the guests loved all the different flavors.

This was the bridging ceremony for my daughter from daisies to brownies, so I made the first cake a daisy and put a bridge with a cup of daisies on top going to the brownies, maybe a little corny but it was cute, and delicious.

My version of a brownie ala mode. It's all cake (white on top and triple choc. fudge on bottom for the "brownie." It's iced in buttercream and drizzled with choc. syrup. Candy pieces placed intermittently for color (and fun). The "cherry" is RBC.

This was a brownie brushed with gold luster. Tink was a chocolate transfer....which broke when I flipped it so if it looks like she had some cosmetic surgery, you're right, she did!

This was for my Niece's Brownie troop awards ceremony. The badges on the side were individual petit fours for each girl in the design of the badges they had earned. The sides of the cake had each girls name on it.
