This cake was done for two little girls, ages 1 & 2, celebrating their birthday together. Was told to do a pink & green theme and this was what I came up with. All buttercream with fondant accents. Thanks to boween for some great inspriration!

my neighbors are 3 sisters who live together, and their birthdays are all within a week of each other's - very cute...this is my second paid order - i tried to ice it with buttercream dream mixed with a tub of whipped topping....horrible idea. by the time i had smoothed it and walked it 15 feet next door it was sliding onto the cake board. decorations are candy melts. they are soooo easy to work with, and they keep much better than b/cream, i wish they could be used for everything!

WBH white cake: three 6" rounds, each torted and filled with ShirleyW's mock bavarian cream. Iced in ganache bc, covered in choc. mmf & painted with copper luster dust. Fondant deco's in soup, gumpaste handles and "wood" spoon, and 50/50 Remy. The ladle was gumpaste and was originally upright, but it broke. The burner grill is REAL (from my stove!) as is the parsley. The fondant is already bulging, and fell off 6 hours later (Cake Disasters thread)! There's also a closeup of Remy in my photos. TFL.

French vanilla cake with chocolate filling and almond buttercream icing. Made last year for my son's birthday party we held at our kung fu dojo. Made from the Batman/Superman character pan. I used colored candy melts to make the face and hands, using the pan as a mold. I love using this pan. It's gotten a lot of milage... Oh, and I took the picture before I remembered to add eyebrows. *grin*

Made this for my wilton I class and it also happened to be my DH's birthday. Everything is bc. Had a bit of a problem with the rose color (was suppossed to be purple) but did not have time to make more. Oh well. And the bc was a little too stiff so the petals are a little too jagged for my taste.

This is an all buttercream sheet cake. I made it for my son's 8th birthday. In hindsight I wish I had done the logo out of fondant-oh well next time! The little football is made out of rice krispies. Comment/critique please!

This is a cake I did this weekend for a monthly departmental birthday gathering at my SIL's company. I decided to do a Fall basket for the 9 October birthday babies. It is actually 2 12" cakes - the bottom cake is a red velvet and the top cake is a carrot; both are iced and filled with cream cheese icing. The barrel planks are chocolate fondant and the leaves are also fondant dusted in luster dust of gold, copper, tan and yellow.

I was asked to do a birthday cake for 4 people that included everyone's name. This was my solution to fitting all the copy on the cake. Finished it off with some fondant flowers.

This is the first cake I made outside of cake class. It's is a birthday cake for my husband, who turned 43 on Saturday. He asked for a Fall Theme, so this is what he got. I used a leaf cookie cutter we had in the cupboard, and the leaf-making skills I learned in class. The cake is a boxed spice cake, and I made the "Decorator Cream Cheese Frosting" recipe from this site. It tasted pretty good.

The first attempt at making a cake. Everything made by hand, eg no flower cutters etc. Butter cream a nightmare but it ended up OK.
