This is my first attempt at modelling using fondant as I hadn't discovered modelling/gum paste at the time! Made for a friend who loves dogs. I think she ended up keeping the dog, we had to take cut around it, she really didn't want to cut the cake. Was pretty happy for a first go! Thanks for looking.

Clara was sleeping on top of a coconut cake with lemon filling. She was made to go with a buffet table with the theme of "the Nutcracker". The buffet was part of a first term final exam for the pastry chef program I'm in. My table won first place!

This was for my daughters 1st birthday. The cake is buttercake covered in buttercream. The bedspread and pillow is made from modelling past. The bear is a keepsake and not edible. This cake was inspired from a picture in the Aust. Womens Weekly childrens cakes book.

THe b'day girl will spend the night with 3 of her friends in one of the hotels here in Shanghai. I think she must have thanked me at least 7 times, when she saw her cake, her eyes were glowing, was such fun to see

I made this for my for my good friend Sheila! This cake took forever... but it was worth it. Iced in buttercream, with fondant accents. I ended up having to mold the baby by hand out of gum paste. Thanks Vicki614!

This was done for a 6yr old's birthday party. Everything is edible except the dog tags & the colorful dog toy. Mom wanted those ribbons added to go with the theme of the party. The space was left open for Happy Birthday & her name.

Okay, here's the story behind this cake. A customer, who has muscular dystrophy and is confined to a bed, has theme b-day parties every year. This year is a tacky 70's prom, hence the green tux. I decided to add a friendly nurse to cheer him up.
The mattress is cake and everything else is fondant. :-)

This cake was for my children's birthday (they are both born in March). We had a joint pretend sleepover party and all the kids wore thier PJs. At the bottom of the bed is our black cat. Everything is MMF, except for the headboard which are wafer crackers. I would do that differently next time. This was my first cake working with fondant and I think it turned out pretty well.

This cake was made of chocolate and white cake. All decorations are MMF. The bridal shower had a slumber party theme so this worked perfectly. The pillow was made according to the instructions in the "How to Make a Pillow Cake" article here on CakeCentral. It was very easy and turned out great.

I made this cookie in a 11x15 Wilton cake pan. I covered and embellished in fondant. I used a gingerbread "man" to make the little girl, embellishing in fondant and BC. There are a few embellishments in BC on the "cake".

I made this cake for Miko on his Christening. That bell announces and welcomes him. The tree signifies his growth.

Bed cake for grown up slumber party. The bed is based on the clip-art picture on the invitation. The client wanted me to write the hosts' names on the pillows and the guests names on the quilt. All MMF.

This is a cake that I made for my baby-doll-obsessed daughter for her 2nd birthday. The kids helped to decorate the bed and I made the quilting pattern on the blanket with a tracing wheel.

Okay, this cake has a deeper meaning. It was a two in one cake for my brother. Unfortanately, he had to spend a few months in jail and he got out a couple weeks after his birthday. When I asked what he missed the most he replied " my bed". So that was my inspiration for this one. I was hoping he missed a certain food or maybe driving, biking or anything other than his bed, but I managed. ( I wished I would've had time to put a girl on the bed, ha ha. ) This was my first ALL fondant cake.

I made this for my grandson who turned 3 yesterday. He's totally into Toy Story, especially Woody and Buzz. The bed, toy box and night stand are cake covered in fondant. Everything but the toys is made from either fondant or gumpaste.

I made this for my niece's 10th birthday. It's a chocolate cake with vanilla frosting. It's the first time I ever made and used fondant. The dolls and accessories are from the zillions of Polly Pockets sets I have cluttering up my home. Thanks for looking. As with anything I do, it's always inspired by the very talented cc people!

This was a "morning after" wedding bed cake I made for a friend's bachelorette party. Didn't want anything naughty or embarrasing, so I put on a few fun little things that I thought might be found on their wedding bed in the morning! Cat and wine stuff is fondant, nightie and boxers are gumpaste, the rest is MMF-covered yellow cake with chocolate Bavarian filling. She loved it!

A friend's daughter had a birthday slumber party and here it is. Included details of the birthday girl and her guests and added favourite cuddly toys, cd's books etc. I always make sure the newspapers and magazines contain relevant and amusing captions. In this case local newspaper with birthday headline!
Bedhead is white chocolate candy bars. Bedposts those marshmallow things called Flumps here in the UK, topped with white malteasers. Apologies for UK candy names :-)

An early attempt. This was a birthday cake based on a 7 Dwarves cake I had made for a 7th birthday. It had my daughter and her friends all tucked up in one big bed!
