I have seen this done on here before, and really wanted to try it. It is not perfect I am still working on getting better. But I had a lot of fun doing it. This was for my nephew who turned 14....He loved it.

40th birthday for a dear friend who collects pigs. Pig is RK and fondant. Bed is MMF over chocolate BC 11x15 double layer chocolate cake. Pirouette cookies for bed post, everything is edible except for skewers , straight pins, studs and thread for corset. Stripes could have been crisper but I ran short of time.

Chocolate Victorian cake (my favorite!) The doll was made with mmf and so were the beddings. The bed was made of pastillage (a week in advance). I had never done anything like it before, and it was very exciting (both planning and making it) :-)

A friend of mine wanted a cake to go along with her daughter's favorite book about monkeys jumping on a bed. This was such a fun project. I enjoyed everything about it. This was the first time making a bed cake as well as sculpting monkeys from fondant! Thanks for looking and comments are definitely welcome!

My first bassinet. I made this for a co-worker's friend. Buttercream and MMF. The top was molded from a pyrex bowl covered in plastic wrap. They wanted me to write "I'm on my way! ", so I incorporated the blocks and wrote it on the tops. The ladies were very pleased.

Made for my daughter's 2 year birthday. The cake is covered in bc with fondant accents. I must not have put enough supports in the cake because it sagged over night.

Two little monkey's jumping on the bed, one fell off and bumped his head. That's what it says in red lettering on the floor around the bed. This was made for 4 year old twin boys whose mom said they were monkeys. Everything is edible except for the headboad and the footboard of the bed.

The person who ordered this did not give me any real direction with this cake, All i was given at first, was that it was a boy. I finally got the last name.

This was a birthday gift for a co-worker who is like my brother. He loves to sleep, wishes he had that money, like to play Sudoku, likes to fish, and dresses well. He loved the thought and detail that went into this cake.

1-9x13 and 1-11x15 were used to make this cake. Buttercream with fondant accents. There is a weak spot in the design right behind the cab where more support is needed to keep the cab from leaning backwards. Good learning lesson! :)

This was a great cake to make! It was a cinnamon banana cake, chocolate kahlua ganache filling, iced in cinnamon butercream, covered in fondant. The idea was inspired by Debbis Brown's "Magical Cakes" Book. I had to make a few changes. I hated to see this one go. Thanks for checking it out!! You guys are truly and inspiration!!

I got this idea from this website. I did this for a co-worker's bridal shower. Everything was made out of fondant except the bed cover & the bed skirt, both of which were real material.

This cake was for a little girl who was going to be performing in her first recital. The cake is actually the bed, which is decorated as her bed in her room. It is a 2-layer 1/2 sheet cake with vanilla and chocolate cake and cannoli cream filling. The bed posts are made of gumpaste and the pillows, and bedspread are made of fondant. I made a little edible ballerina wearing the same dress that the little girl was wearing for her recital. It was a fun cake to make.

This was my entry for Pastry Chicago's "Haunted Creations" contest. I won! The "Bed" is 2 rectangular cake dummies stacked and covered with fondant. Everything else is a mix of either gumpase, fondant, royal, or modelling chocolate. Pretty much everything is airbrushed. Took me almost a month, working piece by piece.

Lemon/Orange Mini loaf cakes, frozen and carved into pillow shape. Iced with lemon cream cheese frosting and topped with Lemon MMF pillow cases. These were made to go with a mattress cake for a meeting with a mattress company. I think they'd be great for a kids sleepover as well, customized with kids names.

My coworkers 4yr old asked for a "My Bed Bugs" birthday cake. I guess they have a show on PBS. Anyhow they sent me some pictures from the website ( and only told me they would like white/vanilla cake with white icing, the 3 characters, big enough for 25-30 and it must have some sprinkles on here it is...instead of "sprinkles" I bought Edible Glitter in Blue and Green...what do you think? Hope they like it!
