My niece saw this in a magazine, Had her Grandma call me to ask if I could make it, with only saying It was a rubber ducky in a bathtub.
That was just about the time I found this site. So I don't remember who's it was, But Thanks! I used the homemade gel for the water, the rest is buttercream.

This was a really fun cake to make. I made the invitations also and they had a baby in a bath tub on them with bubbles all over. My bathtub is a little big and this is after I cut it in half. We learn from our mistakes. BC, White chocolate modeling clay bubbles and the baby and duckie are not edible. Thanks for comments. This is my 5th cake to actually sell.

This was for a twin boy/girl baby shower. Thanks to Amylou for the inspiration and idea! Unfortunately, I'm not very good at fondant, so this was the best I could do to replicate. 8 in Fr. Vanilla with buttercream.

Design from Boween!! My brother's 65th birthday (he asked for Whimsy-I wanted to do roses). First time modeling fondant. I had a tough time with "the man". It looks like he is drowning, not relaxing! I tried to make him look like he was singing in the tub....Buttercream "tub and water", fondant accents.

This is my first try with gum paste. It is heavy! Over the course of the day, the Kids (my twin nieces) really started to tip to the back. Other really DUMB DUMB idea was to use jell-o! The gumpaste obviously started to melt!! STUPID, STUPID Idea!! Well, you live and learn. Maybe I should actually take a class or something! Anyway, all the family and friends thought it was cool. I really liked the Ivory soap. The lines in the tile messed up during transfer to my sisters house. Thanks for looking!

This cake went perfectly with the theme for the baby shower. The first cake I saw like this was done so beautifully by Nati, that I had to pm her permission to duplicate. I have seen several on this site and I hope mine does justice to those who did it before me!! This is MMF and buttercream bubbles.

This was for my cousin's baby shower. The cakes are 8" and 12", french vanilla layers with buttercream covered in MMF. The ducks on the sides are candy melts. I enjoyed making this cake and the mom-to-be seemed pleased. =)

I am extremely disappointed, but decided to post anyhow. I'm satisfied with the topper, but hate the cake. I prefer bc icing that is mostly butter and know that I can't get it perfectly smooth, but this cake is a mess. I could have done more to try to improve it, but I've given up. Oh well, it's the thought that counts. I know it will taste good. Almond cake with strawberry bc filling, and bc icing.

This was made for a Naming Day/Christening celebration for twins. The couple wanted a cake that had absolutely nothing religious about it so no one would be offended. The tub is sculpted pound cake and all accents are fondant/gumpaste mix. Thanks to MrsMissey for the inspiration!

Inspired by many here on CC, this is my first bathtub cake. Done for my MIL for Mother's Day and it was so much fun! Everything is edible except the wine glass but the wine inside is colored piping gel, lol. White cake, white buttercream, mmf and mmf accents!

My husband asked me to make this cake for one of his employees who
was retiring. He works for a company that manufactures faucets so we came
up with this idea that was inspired by various cakes from this website.

This is my take on the ever popular baby in a bathtub cake. The customer wanted to incorporate something "Irish" into the bathtub themed cake, so I threw a few shamrocks in the water and around on the ground. Used an 8 & 9 inch pan. Bottom of cake covered in fondant, scored and painted with airbrush & hand painting. And they already know it's a boy so thus the blue towels, boat, etc. Used aine2 directions to make the baby.

I had my sugarpaste too dry so there're lots of cracks on the tub. Pretty tough to have a perfect fondant but guess I have to go on trying.

My DH's Grandmother was having her 80th birthday and is absolutely in LOVE with Betty Boop. Cake is Golden Vanilla with Peach Apricot filling. The bathtub is a cake covered in modelling chocolate. Betty and Pudgy are made of sugar paste as are the accessories and floral. Cake is iced in buttercream. I will be adding a closeup picture of the tub.

not sure who came up with the original idea, but thanks to all of you had inspired me. this was for a last minute client who's boss is a workaholic. they had no idea what to get her....come to find out she loves to taking relaxing baths with a glass of wine. her favorite color is purple, her favorite towel is burgandy, her flooring is ceramic, and she loves candles and white roses. i think i got it all in there pretty successfully!! i'm most proud of this cake, so far.

A cake my sister and I did for a co-worker's grandkids who were returning home after a long vacation. Sadly it was really hot and the icing kept wanting to melt on us, but all things considered it turned out pretty cute! I used my oval pans from my Course II kit to make it.

This cake was inspired by my friend's assertion that her Prayer Closet is her bathtub due to the fact that it is the only place she can go in her busy household and know she won't be disturbed. Dreamcicle Cake, custard filling, fondant figure and tub, buttercream water. I had no idea there were so many bathtub cakes out there! Thanks for all the ideas from posters on this site.

this cake took me forever to complete! i don't think i want to tackle another one like this in a long time!!! tub is yellow butter cake, duck is chocolate. everything is made w/ toba garrett's fondant. bubbles painted w/ sparkle dust. the tiles look wet, but they're not...i got that affect by boiling hot water and going over the tiles with a small brush...to my surprise...it dried that way! enjoy!!!
