These are a couple cakes I made for my brother's graduation; he's big into basketball! These shoes are actually an exact representation of the shoes his favorite NBA player signed and handed to him after a game. They're size a size 13. ;) I stacked three sheet cakes, froze them, and then carved the shoes. Iced in buttercream. Were a HUGE hit!

This one was for a graduation for a basketball player. The shoe was solid cake. (It was too hot to worry about layers shifting when transporting!)

I made this one the son of a lady my mom works with. I was kinda proud of the way it turned out, and she loved it.

This cake was for my nephew, he loves all sports. So I decided to make four 6" round cakes for each sport that he plays. Hope everyone enjoys.

Done for a friend's son who wanted a basketball cookie using Spurs colors. He wanted silver (not gray), so I added some crushed up cake sparkles. Cookie is chocolate chip. This was my first giant cookie to decorate.

The basketball is made from 1/2 ball pan. Hoop and strings are made from b/c. This was done for a senior who plays basketball in school, his name and number are on the jersey.

This was a cake done for a friend's little boy who was turning 2. He loves sports balls of any kind. He specifically asked for the football to eat.
The balls were piped on top of 4 inch cakes. I would have rather made it from the mini ball pan but I ran out of time to go buy that pan.

I made this for the execs and staff of our local NBA and WNBA. The sheet cake is chocolate on one side and yellow on the other (I actually poured each batter on one end of the sheet pan and let them meld together in the middle as it baked) and the basketball is a yellow cake. It is iced in buttercream with the jerseys being made of fondant.

This was for my son's bday. It is a double stack of 9" rounds, with blach licorice for the net. A real basketball tops it off like a slam dunk. Son loved it because he got to keep the basketball.

Here is our churches Upwards Awards Night Cake I did. I tried doing a FBCT, but it stuck to my wax paper and was unusable. I usually have great results with FBCT when I leave in the freezer for 24 hours. This one was only in for 2 hrs because I was running late. I had to free-hand the pictures onto the cake. I tried to transfer the picture by outlining it and laying it on the cake (hoping it would stick). It didn't stick very well. I had very little outline left when I picked up the paper.

My very very first decorated cakes I made yesterday:) I know I have a lot to work on the 3D basketball cake - I shouldn't fill the ball cake so much, I guess... but I'm quite satisfied with the FBCT frog logo on the otherone - ok for the very first time;) Hope to get better, of course;)

Basketball is shocolate madeira cake with cream cheese filling covered with homemade sugerpaste (fondant) and the logo cake is done in FBCT, sponge cake with chocolate mousse filling with wild cherries.
