I made this for my husband's birthday. He's a huge BoSox fan. It is a super-moist carrot cake with cream cheese frosting. I used vanilla buttercream for the decorations. I traced the logo onto wax paper, then transfered it to the cake using piping gel. I filled in the socks with stars.

This is a cake I made for my nephew's 5th birthday. It is a three layer cake iced with chocolate and buttercream icings. I made the cake from a square and a round cake to get the baseball diamond shape. Instead of putting all the writting on the top of the cake there was enough space to put it on the sides.

I used half the sports ball cake and stacked it on top of a sheet cake. I used a baseball cake kit and candy sprinkles to finish it!

This cake I made for a celebration party after the Redsox won the world series. Big hit with the Redsox fans - not so much with the yankee fans

Top layer is a chocolate cake with cream filling, bottom layer is french vanilla cake with Bavarian cream filling. Bats, balls, and gloves are candies I made. Glove and ball are candy suckers I made for each child at the party. Bottom layer has edible images all around cake. Everything that could go wrong with this cake did! I just hope it makes it on the hour drive to friends house.

I made this cake for my 5 year old grandson. The bottom was a 16" round chocolate cake covered in MMF. The top was a Wilton ball glove pan in creamy white cake with buttercream frosting. This was his first year to play t-ball so his party theme was all baseball. I used baseball bat candles at the base of the round cake and laid one on top of the cake also.

I just finished this cake today, for a baseball team party. I was so nervous delivering it, I was sure the baseball would roll off - even though I dowelled it like crazy. Whew! These were chocolate and yellow cakes, with cookies and cream filling. The baseball was iced in fondant, and the dirt was brown sugar.

Baseball done with 1/2 of sports ball pan. I outlined the A logo and used a brush dipped in water to smooth it out. This is the first time I've tried that, and also the first time I've done a shell border (I've only done 2 classes of Wilton's Course I). This was for a 3-yr old's baseball themed birthday party. I am pleased with how it turned out!

This cake was made for my neighbor for their sons little league team. They of course were the "Red Socks". I did little baseballs out of buttercream around the border. After doing the stitching my hand hurt bad!! The Red Socks design was freehand. Of course you can tell that because it is so shakey looking! Hope you like it anyway (the boys did).

This was a cake done for a friend's little boy who was turning 2. He loves sports balls of any kind. He specifically asked for the football to eat.
The balls were piped on top of 4 inch cakes. I would have rather made it from the mini ball pan but I ran out of time to go buy that pan.

I made this one for my youngest sons 9th birthday. He's been playing baseball now for 4 yrs, just started learning to pitch this past summer, it's not the most decorative cake I've seen, theres some really fantastic ones on this site, but it was fun to do and he loved it!

the bottom layer is decorated with buttercream to look like grass, the base is covered with mmf (my first attempt with mmf) and the baseball is also cake covered with mmf. There was supposed to be a glove, but it fell apart (i think i handled it too much)
