bananacake filled with banana pudding and fresh sliced bananans (recipes from CMD-Book). It's the first time that I tried out MMF, so I just experimented with cookiecutters, drapes, painting, gel, etc... . My FIL is a VERY proud texan, who lives in the rio grande valley. maybe now you will see where I was going with my fantasie design ;-)

Made for the AF Ball fundraising auction. One layer of strawberry cake with strawberries, bananas and banana cream, then a layer of pineapple cake with pineapple, bananas and banana cream, then a layer of chocolate cake covered with bananas, then frosted with banana cream, drizzled with chocolate and then garnished. MMMM.

Cake for my nephew's first birthday inspired by other cakes on this site. I used candy clay for the bananas. Monkey came out looking more like a bear -- I think I needed to put the ears lower.

for my family, easter sunday. It is blue ribbon moist and fudgey chocolate cake recipie from cookies and cream filling and topping with a semi-sweet chocolate and vanilla almond bark collar around the side. there are four layers each with cookies and cream filling inbetween. this is the first time for me trying these recipies or collaring a cake. I am putting semi sweet and vanilla almond bark covered banana cake balls on top that look like eggs with spots like the cake.

I made this cake for a little girl who was turning 8 and had a Hawaiian Slumber Party Birthday and she wanted a Bratz cake. All the decorations are made with fondant and painted with thinned icing color. The doll was a bit big and hides the palm tree which was a pretzel rod covered in chocolate with fondant leaves. The 'water' gel actually was only around the top of the bottom layer, but ended up 'sliding down' in transit. I also used graham cracker crumbs for the sand. The girls loved it.

I was hoping that this cake would taste kinda like the Ambrosia that my mother used to make at Christmas time. It was good but I think it needed a bit more orange.

Below is my nephews smash cake I made. It was a pile of bananas with a monkey peeking out from under them. When I first made the cake my daughter said "Mom, you did a great job and the monkey under all that macaroni and cheese". I almost cried. I had to do the bananas over and make them bigger. Hubby added the green tips to them to make them look more realistic.

Here is the birthday cake I made for my nephew. My husband decorated the bananas with the green color and he also created the monkeys. He did such a good job and it was a lot of fun doing this together for someone we both love. The border is bananas and the "sand" is graham cracker crumbs.

Nothing speacial about this cake. I made a Banana Layer Cake with a Pina Colada Frosting for a customer and she raved so much about it that I just had to make another to take to my inlaws house today for a bar-b-que.

My SIL's birthday was last week and I remember her telling me that she used to have a banana cake with chocolate icing every year. This year her family bought her an ice cream cake so I thought I'd make her fav for her.

This was the second cake done for my son's 3rd birthday. Banana cake and chocolate whipped frosting star tip#16 used. Cracker pan idea from wilton. This one my mom loved. She said it was like eating a real banana. And the scent of the frosting was wonderful.

This is a scratch banana cake with fluffernutter frosting (from the fluff cookbook)and live marigolds (which are edible, but noone ate). I love using fresh flowers when they are available. There are so many dark months here, that when nature provides something beautiful, I feel compelled to use it. The flowers are from my garden.

This is for a set of twins' 4th birthday (boy & girl). They are having a jungle themed party! I got the idea for the monkey from a monkey I saw here somewhere. They are made of poundcake w/chocolate icing. The bananas are fondant. The cake is a white 1/4 sheet w/decorator icing.

The other day I bought my beautiful 2 year old nephew the Curious George Movie and so late Friday night I decided to bake him a Curious George cake to go with the movie i was going to give him on Saturday. He loved it - as you can see from his finger marks (I didn't get a chance to take a picture before his fingers:):) It's not the best decorated cake, but hey, he loved it!

It is a FBCT on a banana cake and i made this tiny little banana bunch out of some yellow MMF I had.

This was the smashcake to go with my jungle cake. The cake is made with the mini 3D teddy bear. It was inspired by pinkflamingo's jungle cake. The "banana" is a candle.

I made this for a friend's birthday. She loves banana cake! This is an eight inch, two layer moist banana cake filled with homemade caramel filling, frosted with a cinnamon cream cheese frosting. I decorated the sides with toasted walnuts. The sunflower is candy melts accented with the cinnamon cream cheese frosting. Simple, but really delicious.
