Candy melts smiley face and letters. Made smiley face by pouring candy on a dessert plate covered with either plastic wrap or wax paper? one of quick solution to get round shape...knew it was risky. It cracked when removed which is why balloon strand is covering part of face.

They wanted balloons and confetti. This is what I came up with. I used tip 10 for the balloons. The confetti is crushed colored chocolate sprinkles.

My sister-in-law had me do this one, they have a couple of birthdays a couple days apart, male and female, in their family, so she didn't really want flowers on a cake. I decided to just do one blue clown and one pink, and only Happy Birthday, instead of listing all the names, they have a very large family!!

This is a last minute cake I made for one of my mother's coworkers. Unfortunately, my mom forgot to check on the spelling of the girl's name, and the spelling I was given was wrong. (The little girl's mother said her daughter didn't seem to mind.)

The is a lemon cream cheese with the buttercream frosting. According to my mother's coworker, this was the best tasting cake I'd made yet; she said the cake melted in your mouth... guess it was the 1 1/2 lbs of butter. (No cake of mine is healthy.) ;)

Just thought I'd post a few of my older cakes...this one was done several years ago when I didn't know about transfers, so I drew the design freehand using a toothpick and then filled it in.

11X15 yellow cake w/ buttercream icing. The center heart is a plastic pop top and the lower hands and feet were piped on with buttercream and smoothed. I just piped in heart and star decorations around the side.

There is a significant history to this cake, but in the end it turned out OK. Most important thing was that our Dora fanatic was thrilled again! Buttercream on chocolate cake. No fancy techniques as had not started Wilton classes yet...

The preschool teachers wanted a cake that went with their theme. I found the picture of the cat in one of my children's coloring books. I traced the picture onto wafer paper than placed it on the cake.

This cake was sooo fun to do! It was inspired by one of Sharon's (sugarshack) cakes. This was for a homeschool graduation. Their theme was balloons and bright colors, making it easy to do a whimsy - style design.

This was the second cake I ever decorated... Since it was the first time I did such a 'complex design' I decided to document it... I think this will be a good help for beginers. Enjoy!

I made this for my cousin's son. I found pic of Elmo and modified it a bit to do this BCT. It was quite large and split at the neck when I flipped it onto cake but I think it still turned out ok. LOL. My aunt said the kids won't know and they don't care they just want to eat it!
