My neighbor wanted a ballerina cake for her granddaughter. I found these cute little figurines at the dollar store and used them as inspiration for the color scheme. The fondant is homemade, with a simple marble/chocolate buttercream filling. This is the time I'll be getting paid for doing a cake! YAY!!

my Daughter was having her last ballet class and party before the Christmas break and she wanted little ballerinas. So I made about 24 of these for her class, and the teachers. grape flavored MMF yummy taste kinda like that bubble yum gum but not as strong, and mmf for everything. Just used my left overs from my recent cakes.

This is a blue version of Debbie Brown's Sugarplum Fairy. I didn't have a garner cutter to make it petalish, so I tried to make the skirts as ragged and "tulle-like" as possible. I'm still learning how to model with MMF but I really like this cake!

Two tiers all chocolate with chocolate bavarian cream filling. Decorated in Marshmallow Fondant and Buttercream. Bear is also chocolate cake and also decorated with marshmallow fondant and buttercream. Bottom Tier has a bouquet of baby items made out of candy melts in molds. I did this for my own baby shower, this weekend--a baby girl soon on the way.

12" & 6" round b/c with fondant ribbon roses and number 4. Color Flow cats. Once again the black did not dry enough and the color bled. :( Out of six of them these two were the best plus the other ones broke. grrr. So tip for color outlines in advance and allow plenty of time to dry...days not hours before filling in.

This cake was cursed from the moment I took the order last year at 50% off the price I would usually charge. The customer was practically in tears begging for it to fit into her "budget", then I found out her venue was one of the most expensive hotels in the city! More fool me. I've said it before and I'll say it again...don't lower your prices. A server at the hotel ripped off one side of my fondant board after I asked him to please not attempt to move the cake. Grrr!!!! Glad this one is done.

My version of Debbie Brown's Sugar Plum Fairy Cake. For a little girls dance recital. Colors match her costume. Six-inch single layer torted chocolate cake with caramel cream cheese filling and chocolate buttercream, dress is pettinice. Molded figure also pettinice. Gumpaste Baby's Breath flowers. The mother was thrilled and envied by the other mothers.......Your critique is greatly appreciated!

I made this cake for my daughter's dance recital. Everything is fondant. I had so much fun making this one. I got the idea from another cake like this on the site just changed the colors. If it was your cake thank you it was a big hit.

This was for a 9-year-old girly-girl ballet dancer. It's not my favorite cake, I can see many flaws, but the grandmother (who ordered it) called today and told me the birthday girl squealed and screamed and jumped up and down when she saw it! She has saved the ballet shoes from the top (that's supposed to be a little stage they're pirouetting on -- with the curtain pulled back and her name 'in lights'). She has also saved the ballet shoes, the pearls holding back the curtains and the roses, as keepsakes.

This is a cake I made for my twin's 3rd birthday party. It was from Debbie Brown's Enchanted Cakes book. I made two smaller versions of this on top of cupcakes so each one of my girls would have their own cake and candles to blow out.

Here's a picture of the cake and stand. I covered the cake stand with fondant and then tied tulle around the base to make a tutu.

I made this for my daughter's first birthday (just for the immediate family and my mother-in-law and sister-in-law). I'll be making something else for the party tomorrow. This was for practice and is my first attempt at modeling fondant by hand. Actually it's only the third time I've ever covered a cake with rolled fondant period. Hopefully with a bit of practice, I'll get better

This is inspired from Debbie Brown's Cake. We fought with the Garret Frill Cutter for 2 hours with fondant, then just used buttercream and it was much better! Prettier and easy! 10 inch round carved, tu-tu frills are buttercream - everything else is fondant. This is for my daughter's 5th Birthday!

I searched and searched in the galleries for a picture of a cake sort of like this. I swear I saw this idea here but couldn't find it again. The butterfly was much prettier though. Aubree likes ballerinas so I tried to give our butterfly dancer slippers.
