Basic 10" round cake, with vanilla buttercream. Clothes and buttons are fondant. Cake was yellow, with strawberry jam filling. This is the first cake I tried using a VIVA paper towel for smoothing. I love that trick!

8 inch cube (to resemble toy block). 4 layers dark chocolate mud cake with layers of dark chocolate ganache. Covered in white fondx. Lemon yellow trim also fondant pushed through clay gun. Lettering, booties and plaque are gumpaste. Its for a baby boy christening. Lots of grief putting the fondant on such a tall cake, started to rip and break in corners.. all suggestions on this welcome

A huge baby shower cake for a nervous grandma. Inspired by a cake from Wilton's Tiered Cakes book called "Teddy's Ready to Play", but without the creepy stand-up bear on top. :) Grandma was so nervous she made me nervous, but luckily it came out great and she was thrilled.

The duck is for the bath tub. This was my first attempt at the gumpaste boots. I got the idea here. Thank you all for your ideas. All of my inspirations always come at the last minute and I always run out of time.

My sister-in-law wanted a cake for her son that had a shell on it to represent baptism. I found this shell at our local cake store. I am very happy with how this turned out, even though my roses need some serious practice! I always figure if they are grouped together with greenery they look good!! :-)

10, 8 and 6 inch iced in buttercream with fondant accents. Gumpaste baby and booties, fondant figures. Not much direction from the customer so I found the ribbon for the booties and just used those colors to create a color scheme. I'm very pleased with this one. Chocolate bottle made from mold.

These were for a baby Blessing actually because it was late and the Baby was about a year old so they didn't want to call it a baby shower. The theme was the fruit of the spirit. Baby boy and fruit isn't easy to combine.
I don't really like the way it came out. It was the first time I have tried figure piping. I got the instructions for a cupcake dome from my Grandma. It was really easy and nicer than just putting them on a tray.
Thanks for looking!

This is one I made for my youngest on his first birthday. Both of my sons were born on the same day nine years apart. So from the left over cake from my older son's bowling cake (see my other photos) I could make my little one a little '1'.

this was made for a coworker who is having her baby via c-section on Super Bowl Sunday. We live in Chicago so of course we are all Bears fans but we also work with quite a few people from Indiana and they are Colts fans so there is a good healthy rivalry going on at the office. The mom to be wanted a Super Bowl Themed baby shower so this is what I came up with. Hope you like it.

I got the idea for the baby from several CC members and a Wilton book. The rest I just sort of figured out as I went. This was my 2nd attempt at MMF- turned out great because I didn't use very much crisco.

MMF with MMF/RK accents. Looked at so many pictures to come up with this--thanks to mconrey for the pan size/servings help:). Couldn't find cakewizard's ebay patterns:( I love the result--wished i had a few more hours on it:).... personalized it with the due date for the engine # and put the baby's home town on the ladder--the new parents were in from out of town for the shower and surprised by the cake "details"--fun.

This is my second fondant cake, or decorated cake ever. My best friend baked the cakes and frosted them with BC. I helped her to cover them in fondant. I made the moon topper and baby, and I put the dragees on the bottom tier.
