Got the idea from here, saw several that were great. I wanted to try basketweave - my first attempt! Nursery colors were navy, lime, and light blue. All BC, baby's head is bc smoothed w/ cornstarch before adding eyes, flower centers are navy blue - only place I could think to use it w/out making the cake too dark!

The customer said the colors were lavender, blue and green. This is what I came up with. Not my favorite...but she really loved it anyway.

This was for my girlfriend's son's first birthday. She wanted to be involved making it so she iced most of the block and I did the baby. The block had an A, B, and 2 on the other sides and I used the mini bear pan for the baby.

This is a buttercream covered 6" and 8" baby shower cake. The rattle is made out of fondant/gumpaste and allowed to dry for a few days. The Bow is also a fondant/gumpaste mix. The rest of the cake decorations are made of buttercream.

I made this one for a baby shower for a mom expecting a little boy. 9 inch round bottom layer with half of ball pan for belly and 2 cupcakes to complete :) Bottom layer is done in buttercream with the belly and clothes in fondant. My favorite part was the belly button peaking out!! Thanks for looking.

First onesie cake. I got the idea from all the cute ones here. I didn't have time, nor did I know how to do booties, so I made socks (yikes!). Buttercream with mmf cutouts.

This is my first attempt at marblizing fondant for a cake. I have been so busy that I had to bake this cake, make fondant and buttercream before I could even start. It is all MMF. I guess I over did it a bit on the top tier, but I hope the mom doesnt' notice in the morning, LOL.

I made this cake for a baptism but I put it in this category because I think it would be nice for a shower also. It is covered in MMF, decorations are BC and booties are pastillage.

I did this for a friend's baby shower this weekend, I designed it to coordinate with the invitations. I got some inspiration from a cake posted in this gallery by user vanessabryce. It is white almond sour cream cake with fresh strawberry filling. Everything is fondant except the grass, clouds, and black accents.

This was the first cake I did in Course I. It was where we learned to transfer a pattern to a cake with piping gel (I technique I like to use a LOT!). I knew someone hosting a baby shower so I did the rainbow in pastels and made it into a baby cake.

I didn't have a Little Suzy's Zoo cake pan so I just pattern transfered a picture of Witzy from my computer onto my 12x18 sheet cake with piping gel.

This is 3 12in cakes (vanilla, strawberry, vanilla) with cream cheese icing and covered in MMF. The bib, onesie, bear, and tag are MMF. The booties, bottle, rattle, and pacifier are chocolate molds. I took inspiration for a few cakes I have seen on here.

My neighbor asked if I could make the cakes for their school functions and celebrations... This was the first one I had the opportunity to do for them... She said it was a hit and liked by everyone.... Inspired by CakesbyJess, her's looks much better than mine, but overall I was pleased with it... Thanks for looking!

I found this teddy bear picture on the internet, and added a few baby toys around him so he'd feel at home. It's hard to tell in the pic, but the cake is iced in a pale lime green, with light blue, lilac and leaf green accents. My camera just couldn't cope with the lime green. LOL 11x15 sheet, yellow/choc. marble, bavarian cream filling, iced w/BC.

This cake was for a baby shower; baby's room was decorated in John Deere. Welcome wagon was a toy. Babies in the wagon, and the duck, were fondant. I had seen a John Deere cake that I liked (I think on this website), so I used it as my general inspiration and added a few ideas of my own.
