2 tier cake, bottom lemon cake with creme filling, top tier chocolate cake with creme filling, both iced with buttercream and covered in MMF. Decorated to match the party theme, which was polk a dots and clothes line. All decorations are MMF and babies are made out of gumpaste. This was for my sister, we don't know the sex of the baby yet, so just made a boy and a girl. Her husband is Japanes so I molded the babies after him since he is in Japan and could not make it to the baby shower.

This was for a friend who wanted to surprise her son with the news that she is having twins! I mailed these to her and she put them on a cake. Everything is from MMF. I'm glad they survived the trip!

My cousin had twins. A boy and a girl. I know this cake has been done soooo many times, but my family had never seen it before. They absolutely loved the cakes, especially the little belly buttons and toes. It was fun and quite an easy cake to do.

From the '06 Wilton yearbook. So much fun! Heads, bodies, pillows and blankets are all fondant. Iced in buttercream, then covered in fondant details. It was for a girl who was expecting twins...if you can see the cupcake at the top is actually a set of twins.

I did this cake once before and forgot to take a picture. It was for a boy. I think I did better on this one. I got the idea from one of the Wilton books. I iced a 12in 2 layer for the bottom, 8in 1-layer for middle and a 6in 1-layer for the top and then the mini bear pan. The baby swings are the mint life savers glued to ribbon and the baby (definitely use glue for this). I placed other items around the rest of the cake. I added a bow for the hair and a pink bottle for her to hold on to.

I really loved making this cake. All decorations are fondant (except the laces on the booties and the canopy on the crib) The crib is cake as well.
I got a lot of inspiration from this site! Thanks :)

I saw a version of this cake on the Wilton website and wanted to make it for my sister's baby shower. Everything is done in buttercream. I put his name in the blocks on the bottom tier. I had little clothes pins and bottles in the blocks on the back of the cake.

Okay, not really baby shower - but it's prob. more appropriate for that. These are from the 2005 Wilton book (I think or 2006). Buttercream cupcakes - red velvet and yellow cake. Fondant blankets & baby heads - eyes & mouths drawn on w/ edible marker.

The little angels and their baby 'things' are made from gumpaste. The halos are 20 gauge floral wire. I liked these so much I was sad to have to put them on a baby shower cake.

Angel babies and their items are gumpaste. cake is iced in BC with fondant accents. Only 3 of the 4 babies fit on the cake so I put the 4th in the box with the matching cupcakes.

I did this as a birthday cake for a two year old who loves babies. I used a projector and copied the plate design for the party. It took a very long time to do but I was happy with it.

I made this one for a mom-group. It's a group for moms with few-months-old babies that get tips and tricks for the health of their babies. The woman in charge is always calling me when it's the last meeting, they celebrate with a cake. I always make something special for them, and charge only for a standard cake. I do this because I always get at least one new customer at each meeting.... I wanted to try the baby cake in the Wilton's 2006 yearbook. They wanted also the picture of all the babies.

No cutter, just used a rectangle & cut it down to shape.
Used silver dragees for "pins".

This is a cake for a colleague at work who is leaving to study full-time to become a midwife…. Hence the “To a life of Miracles”. My house was littered with Aine2 cake photos…. You are such an inspiration! Also thanks to Katskakes for sharing some clay modelling instructions with me (the little teddy)

Not a great picture - but this Wilton-inspired cake was fun to do and I just had to share it with you. The little babies swinging are my favorite!

Gumpaste flowers, fondant babies. I was going for an Anne Geddies look, with the babies sleeping in the flowers. :)
