I got to use my airbrush and pasta machine! I also made MMf and rolled buttercream for the frist time. The deep pink stripes are 50/50 MMf and rolled buttercream. The buttons on the back of the cake were made of rolled buttercream .I would use the 50/50 if I ever did it again it holds it shape better.I trimed the top edge better and replaced the missing stripe next to the buttons after the picture. Then I foregot to take another picture!I was pressed for time!!!

The buttons were rolled buttercream as I said in the first description . They need to be 50/50 MMF and rolled buttercream because it holds it shape better. I fix the stripe after the picture.

I made this for a girl at work. My first time working with fondant (as I'm sure you can tell). Also my first square cake. I learned a lot from this one though so hopefully the next will be better.

I cant credit the source for the original of this cake, a photo of it was given to us by the client to replicate, but it was fun! She wanted teal and chocolate with sliver dragees on it and a big silver 21, made of clay by us.

This was an unusual sized cake. Hard to tell from the picture 6in 5tall, 10in 8tall, 14in 10tall, 16in 3tall. The colors were Lt pink & brown with GP butterflies, GP Cherry Branches spilling out of top "box" & crystals were real. The toppper was acylic with crystals (better than silver plated as it will not tarnish). Lid was RCT covered in fondant. Real ribbns as trim, tier 3 was fondant ribbon with GP bow. See my pink & brown tennis shoe grooms cake that went with this!

My uncle is a snazzy dresser, so when he turned 60 my cousins requested a cake that looked like his favorite pair of shoes!
10x10 cake carved into 2 shoes, all covered on fondant and painted by hand, argyle pattern was painted and stamped on using airbrush colors. If you look really close at the heels the pattern is a "60" :)

Inspired by pattern on a diaper bag the soon to be mom fell in love with. Flooded chocolate ganache into white buttercreme lines to make the pattern. Could easily be adapted to a punk rock cake by altering the color scheme.

This cake was a test cake for the weekend (confetti).
I took inspriation from my son's Diego t-shirt that I dressed him in today, that has argyle in a line across the front. I thought I would make the entire cake in a blue theme to make it boy-ish (since the hubby has to take it to work for break or lunch time)
The lettering is freehand, as are the scrolls around it.

Entirely BC iced. I had alot of fun with this, and I thank my little boy's clothes! Inspiration is all around us!`

This is a 10" square cake covered in BC. The argyle pattern was made with the diamond impression mat. I then used the mat to press into rolled out chocolate clay then cut each shape by hand and placed them on in an argyle pattern this cake is for my daughter's 18th birthday. She loves argyle.

This cake is similar to a couple of designs I have done before. They like aspects of both designs, so I combined them in to one. The cake is done in buttercream with fondant accents.

I made this cake for my father on his 70th birthday. Golf is all he does since he retired, and he loved the cake. The design is more or less copied from a wonderful cake here on CC by jylbug. I loved the colors, the argyle and the hills so much I really didn't want to change a thing! I just adapted it to be three tiers.

This is the novelty tiered cake I ented in the Capital Confectioners That Takes the Cake show in Austin. The patterns and colors were inspired by a series of scrapbook paper. The box tops and loop bow were done in gumpaste. The cake decorations were done in fondant. The argyle stiching was piped with royal icing. I placed second.

Cake almost an exact replica of the GREAT one by jylbug. Birthday cake for a man who obviously loves golf! Top-chocolate with chocolate mousse filling, bottom, vanilla with huckleberry cream filling. All decorations including golfer are fondant except for the top golf ball which is styrofoam covered with fondant. Thanks for looking!

Based on a pic I saw here (I don't remember who the decorator was) I created a figure of the birthday girl from gumpaste to sit on top of the golf ball. So much fun to make!

These took a lot of work, that's why there are only six! I made them for fun because I love argyle and have been dying to make something argyle. The cupcakes are vanilla with buttercream frosting and fondant squares. I am really happy with them. Enjoy and thanks for looking.
