Here is a cake that I just wanted to try that I saw on CC. It was a first for me on a lot of levels.I had a lot of trouble w/putting the wires into the cake so that they would be protected from leaving any remnent in the cake(my first concern)and so they didn't slice thru the cake which they did. I put the wire into a straw that I pushed into the cake but the weight of the discks of fondant attached to the wire I believe weighted them down causing the straw to break thru the cake as well. Any suggestions?

This is one of the display cakes that I took to the ICES convention. It is a pregnant lady laying in a hammock between two palm trees. Thanks to Aine2 for her tutorial on the face as that was the part I was most worried about. Not the best work in the world but I did not think it was so bad as I have been doing this less than two years. Thanks for looking!

My sister made this cake for her friends younger sister! The roses are fondant and dusted with silver dust! Cake topper was the theme of the wedding!

My camera made the colors look really wierd, it was much nicer in real life! The colors were a pale aqua and lavender. The calla lilies are sugar paste (bought!) then painted lavender. The rest is BC. They had a really heavy glass topper but it just sank into the cake so we decided to do flowers on top.

This was the first time I used the wilton ribbon cutter on the fondant bow. I like the wavy look! The large flowers on this cake where made using the med. leaf cut-out. I do alot of cakes with these same colors but I think I like the Lime green icing and the blue bow together! Thanks for looking! Let me know what you think!

Meatwad from Aqua Teen Hunger Force. Made for a coworker's birthday. Used the round ball cake pan, made the stout chocolate cake recipe I found on CC and chocolate buttercream icing. If I hadn't accidently put my finger in the wording when I picked up the board, it would have been perfect :)

A co-worker ordered this cake. She told me to have fun with it, so this is what I came up with. She LOVED the colors...said they were perfect! She told me her mom loved chocolate and coconut, so I filled this cake with a recipe I found for almond joy...it was DELICIOUS!!!!!

The customer saw the topper in my office, and it matched her party. She asked me to create a cake around it... I did... and this is a dummy replica... I liked it that much. It is super cute...

Aqua and silver where the brides colors. She supplied the ribbon and cake topper (which did not fit all that well). But turned out good for the most part. Covered in fondant with royal icing details.

This was an assymetrical cake iced in pale blue buttercream with gold vinework, royal icing roses and blossoms, and shades of blue/green daisies and 5-petal blossoms. In the background of the photo, you can see the peacock I made for the top of the cake. Once at the location, the peacock was placed and the feathers of the bird, trailed down the side of the cake where the flowers are.

I did this for my friends wedding (my 3rd Wedding Cake!).
The theme was aqua and purple.
The top cake is white chocolate mud cake, the bottom chocolate mud (very yummy).
A few chocolate ganache layers in each cake, then covered in white sugar paste.
I was happy with how it turned out (although the back is where I hid the sugar past creases etc... I'm slowly getting the hang of how to cover it).

My first ever wedding cake. Thanks to Sue for her helpfulness and inspiration (http://www.cakecentral.com/cake-photo_1292625.html). I was a little disappointed with the end result, but the bride and family were very pleased.

Things I think of when I think of Mama...coffee, gardening, and her artwork. 3 mousse filled tiers, iced in smbc, covered in fondant with royal icing and fondant/gumpaste decorations...flowers, handles, saucers, 'Mama', brushes and palette. Vines made of unbreakable gel w/ royal/and/or fond/gp leaves.Cake was carved, filled, crumbcoated, allowed to settle, frozen, covered in fondant while frozen, returned to freezer overnight, traveled 5+ hours, stored in fridge overnight, allowed to set room temp for approx 3 hours, decorated, delivered to site for assembly and flower placement. I consider myself EXTREMELY LUCKY! No bubbling, no sliding fondant, no oozing mousse.
