For the teacher appreciation/Christmas luncheon. Use buttercream for dress and hair, fondant for wings, feet, face and halo. Used luster dust to make wings sparkle.

Here are the "cookies" I did for the museum's wreaths. They were the baker's clay instead of cookie dough. Had several air bubbles in them (I didn't bake them) and the icing would not adhere too well, not porous, they really needed to be painted. All in all, I think they turned out OK

This was for my godchild and niece. The invitation was her picture as an angel. Not happy with how the face turned out but I love the overall effect. This was the first time I created my own stencil and the first time I airbrushed on fondant. The board is covered with thinned royal icing.

White Chocolate and Coconut Mud cake. Layered with white chocolate ganache. Covered in ivory fondant and surrounded in white chocolate curls. Gumpaste stars on wires and free on the cake. Angel made out of gumpaste, face and hands were made using a mould, wings using a holly leaf cutter with a brumble leaf veiner. "Congratulations" plaque made out of gumpaste and written on with gold dust and rosewater.

1/4 chocolate cake cut in half lengthwise and stacked. In a perfect world, white cakes should have white icing, chocolate cakes should have chocolate icing . . . But in the not-so-perfect world that I live in, cornelli lace covers the crumbs that insist on showing their bright, shiny faces!!!

I made this for a really good friend who is also a cake decorator. I am so ashamed it did not turn out like I wanted. I only had two hours to get ready for the party because of uninvited guests and then she showed up earlier in the day. I was asked the night before by the huby to make it 4 her surprise pty, but I had school wk so could not finish it until two hours before. Needless to say, the cake was still warm when I frosted. Even put in the freezer for a 30 minutes, but still did not cool off enough.

My bosses favorite team was the Angels so when he left us I made him this cake. I used the mini ball cake pans for the hat and ball but afterwards I thought it would have been much easier to just use snow balls. Duh! :o)

chocolate cake, white cake with white choko ganaché and raspberry mousse. The angels are made in a silicone mould and then painted with gold lustre. The ruffles are made with a garrett frill cutter. The text says congratulations Irene. Thanks for looking.

Birthday cake ordered by a friend for her sister who collects angels. Cake is strawberry with strawberry filling and buttercream icing. This was a lot of work, but her sister loved it. I was happy with the way it turned out.

My daughter is special needs and she loves hearts and angels, so thought this would make a great theme for her party. I got the idea of the angels out of a cake decorating magazine

The theme for my neice's baby shower was Angels. I got this idea from one of the Wilton Yearbooks. Not bad for my first stacked cake. The angels were made from fondant a few days before the shower. They are holding piping bags and placed on the cake as if they are piping some of the stars on it. :)

This was my first wedding cake ever. I was so happy with the way it turned out. The bride (my friend's mom) gave me the topper, and said I could do whatever I wanted. Pretty cool way to do a first cake. It's one of my favorites to this day.

This is an 18x24" sheet cake, for a baby shower for one of the teachers at my daughter's school. The design is a FBCT, and was used on the invitations. The colors have been done to match the tableware.

I saw this cake in a Wilton book. I had a lady who wanted something with pastel blue and christian-like. I knew this was the cake! This was a very large cake! I used buttercream instead of fondant.

This was my nephew's baptism cake. All gumpaste figures. Thanks to franjmc who was kind enough to cover my boards and kept me fed during those long hours of cake decorating. Middle cake is 3 layers of coconut white chocolate mudcake and 2 layers of dark chocolate mudcake, joined with white chocolate ganache. The cake on the left is a jaffa mudcake filled with white chocolate ganache, the smaller on the right is a hazelnut white chocolate cake, filled with white hazelnut ganache. YUM!!
Thanks Franny : )

Trawling the archives to find some earlier cakes of mine! This was a fabulous Jane Asher recipe rich fruit cake (very boozy!), covered in marzipan, then Royal Icing, sprinkled with Disco Glitter and finished with a hand-painted fondant plaque angel.

Made this cake for my grandmother's wake. Wasn't really in the mood to do a cake but at the viewing my uncle had asked if I had made a cake. So I went home that night and baked one for the get together after the burial. It was a real quick job I had it baked and decorated in 3 1/2 hrs.
