This probably seems like a silly cake. It is for my sister in law she's about to begin her masters this fall. She's going to be studying growing roses in space.

I found out from these photos that the mom had added the "4" candle after I delivered the cake...which, to me, wasn't necessary...but, hey, it's her cake! The best part was Michael was *thrilled*!

This was the cake I made for my son's third birthday! We had an outer space theme. I had his picture on it in his astronaut Halloween outfit. (I had to cut it out due to site regulations, but it was adorable!)

These were fun! They were filled with nerds candies. Marshmallows with frosting on top. M&Ms for lights, dum dum on top. Idea from the Wilton website.

This cake was for a Buzz Lightyear party for a 2 year old. There was a large color flow image of Buzz for the top of the cake but I forgot to take a picture once it was on. The icing would not smooth for me no matter what - I think it's time to explore some new icing recipes. Happily, the top was hidden with the color flow image.

These were for the kids - the cake was for the grown-ups. They looked great on the cupcake stand, not so fun just in the pan.

I made this for my husband's birthday. He loves aliens and spaceships. I spelled out Happy Birthday and his name in cookies. I used the Jell-O jigglers cutters to cut the cookies out. The top of the spaceship is a half ball cake pan, and the bottom is a round cake carved.

This bouquet was done for an alien haunted house and corn maze that I am providing the sugar cookies for. They wanted it for a thank you gift for abc15 news for doing a segment on the haunted house.

My husband finally defended his PhD this month and he requested that his cake be in the theme of the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. The round green alien gave me some probs but in the end it came out pretty good.

Alien Spaceship Cake
Jun 18, 2007
This was done in a large heart shaped pan, I cut off the top bumps and rounded out the bottom. With the right amount of airbrushing yellow and green, it was perfect. I airbrushed the board carried away in the moment. But it really made the cake pop! Andrew LOVED IT!!!

This was my first out of ordinary cake request. The alien from the predator movie. It was also my first adventure using fondant. far I have come from this sloppy cake. But as the birthday boy told me "the alien wasn't a prissy perfect guy" Was definitely the uggliest, yet coolest cake I have made thus far.
