This is the sweet 16 cake I did for my daughter. This was the 1st time I used the Wilton whipped icing-didn't like to work with it. But everyone else thought it tasted great! All white cake with white chocolate pudding added. White chocolate BC filling. Her name was made for melted white chocolate.

This cake was a quickie cake! I did it while I was working on the topsey turvey cake. I didn't get to make a cake for my niece's 16th bday so I made her one this weekend.

Yellow cake, BCI & MMF, Corneli Lace is Choco melts, letters & flowers are MMF, & butterflies are color flow~ Her fav color is blue so I had to add the blue butterflies~ :-)

I made this for my Niece's 16th birthday - it's very sparkly, I used NuSilver Luster Dust. I think it turned out okay.

Snowflakes are hard, folks! They kept breaking and with every fix they started looking more like blobs than snowflakes. The cake is also covered with edible glitter on top and sides. Sorry the pic is so grainy...that's seems to be all my camera does these days.

This is my second stacked cake. 8 & 10" layers, iced in buttercream. Fondant strips, bow and curly Qs. Buttercream polka dots and squiggles inspired by Food Network episode featuring Colleen. This is my first bow - big thanks to CC memeber "DelightfulSweetBea" for step-by-step instructions.

This is my very first cupcake cake! I made this for my boyfriend's daughter who loves the colors purple and orange. I used gold dragees for the center of the flowers, and even filled the centers of the cupcakes with whip cream. This was a lot of fun to make.

The birthday gal wanted violet and yellow and bows. The topper is gumpaste/fondant, made to look like tiles...I cut each diamond individually and then "glued" it to a gumpaste "vase" I made and dried. Wanted to pull my hair out.

An ice cream cake for my daughters sweet 16 -- she had a luau party and the invites looked like flip-flops. The "cake" was made of cookie dough ice cream with oreo cookie crust. the frosting is actually cool whip colored with food dye. The straps are made of fondant and the flower was taken off of a real flip flop. She loved it!

This was one of 3 for that day. 10" and 8". I took inspiration from mmccoog for the tie dye effect and smashcakes for the fondant loop and spirals. Actually, the birthday girl browsed the galleries and like both and want them combined. I did it the night before and as it sat overnight the back of the top sunk down and split . I almost cried but instead just filled it in with more frosting and colored it. Another cake I did that used the same buttercream batch also sunk so I think it was just too soft.

I did this cake for a sweet 16 birthday party. My first topsy-turvy cake. I was TERRIFIED something was going to happen to it, like it was going to collapse once I left the party, but it didn't! I have learned several lessons for next time though (like put my borders on at the site). Bottom tier was chocolate cake with oreo filling, middle tier was yellow cake with dark chocolate raspberry ganache filling, top tier was yellow cake with lemon filling.

This was a 16th birthday for Stuart. He likes to surf and will be getting a car. The 3D car is from the Wilton 3D crusin pan and the other is a 2 layer sheet cake. The car was inspired from Debbie Brown's work her Naughty Cake book. The car is covered in fondant and the cake is buttercream icing.

I made this cake for a cousins Sweet 16 birthday. Her favourite colours are pink and green. The top layer is French vanilla and the bottom layer is chocolate both with buttercream filling. I got the idea for this cake from this site. It's a combo of beachcakes, LolaT and Rexy's cakes, thanks so much for the ideas. She loved it.

My niece helped me make this cake for her best friend's surprise Sweet 16 party. We were originally going to do the dot/harlequin/stripe pattern, but decided to go all-dots to match the invitations we made. Our only hitch was that we didn't use enough dowels, and as time went by the bottom two tiers began to collapse and the fondant bunched up. BUMMER! But it was still cute and her friend was happy and that's what it was about! :)

Sour Cream Vanilla sheet cake with buttercream icing. Chocolate cake with twinkie filling, chocolate icing, fondant covering on round cake. Buttercream scrolls. Ribbon accents.

For my daughters sweet 16 dinner. She wanted white, red and black so I used unedible items for colors. Afraid of having red and black teeth LOL.

If if can go wrong it did with this cake. Fondant tore, round cake buldging and broke, but I doctored it the best I could.

This was for my cousin's sweet 16. She wanted pink & black and for it to be 'funky'. 3 tiers of yellow cake. I made the dark chocolate MMF using Hersey's Special Dark Cocoa that someone posted in the forums (sorry I don't remember who it was). It tastes like tootsie rolls and is already black - no coloring added. Everything you see that's pink is buttercream and everything black is the chocolate MMF. I used silver dragees as accents.
