Ok I just thought I would take the initiative and do a poll regarding unveiling all entries for contests at the time voting begins, specifically, blocking the contest gallery for the current contest until we can vote (just like the naughty cakes are blocked). The purpose of this would be to ensure that any duplications of ideas or themes would be purely coincidental.

I agree. I also admit to "peeking" to see what kind of competition I am up against. I am all for the surprise!

I like seeing all the pics. I think blocking them takes away the fun. I have loved seeing all the Halloween pics. Think of how many pics we would have missed if they were all blocked!

I agree Kristy! Also...some of us who don't want to replicate someone elses work can check and see what NOT to do. I already checked the Halloween ones and thought...OK...NO jack-o-lantern or haunted house for me! I also think it would be fun for everyone to do the SAME cake one contest...lol

Great idea KayDay! "same cake" contest (see below)

I agree to the hidden entries. That would be on the same idea as a "real" contest where you do your cake and bring it to the contest the same day as all the other entries. You don't see the other cakes until the day of the contest!

Also hosting a "same cake" contest would be awesome, that way you can see the differences in techiques, skills, and development off the idea! What a challlange to creativity and interpretation. This one would deffenatley need to remain hidden until voting.

Keeping the pictures hidden would not suffocate on lookers enjoying pictures. There are tons of pictures in the galleries. Exercise patients and just wait until voting to see the contest pictures. Don't panic, everyone will have the oppourtonity to see and marvel at them. And it will keep the not so honest and ethical folks honest. This shouldn't be an issue for the rest of us. I can wait to see contest photos until the voting starts. thumbs_up.gif

I don't want to stir up any controvercy or discord, but I think there is a reason that Jackie froze the other thread about this, and posted this thread explaining her opinion.

Misdawn, I do realize you started this poll BEFORE she did that, so I'm not trying to point fingers at ANYONE. I just think maybe it would be best to leave this topic alone from here on out, since Jackie's already made her decision.

Thanks! thumbs_up.gif
