How do you get your cookies on the stick. I know Wilton has the cookie pan with the space for the stick but you are limited to round. Tips please from my cake and cookie buddies. Also, do you pipe your icing on or use a spatula

Some bake with the stick, some put the stick in after the cookie has baked. I think it depends on what your planning for your cookies to decide whether to glaze or fill in or spread icing on. The most important thing to do is start with a plan of what you want your end product to "look" like. Than plan it out.

Wilton has the star, heart and then the seasonal ones. The round ones lend themselves to so many designs!

There are a few ways you can add the sticks to your cookies....

Bake with sticks:
1. Roll out your dough, and do two cut outs for each cookie. Place one on the cookie sheet, place the stick where you want it, then add on another cut out. This will sandwhich your stick between the cookies.

2. Roll out your dough thick enough to insert the sticks. So you want the dough thicker than your sticks. With your cookies on the cookie sheet, place your hand over the dough, and twist your stick into the dough.

After you bake you can attach your sticks using royal icing or candy melts.
