I am going to be making a cake that looks like the Bates house from the movie "Psycho". I have attached a pic that the customer sent me. Does anyone have any tips on how to make the top portion of the house? I guess it is the attic. Also, what about the pillars, I thought about using pretzals.

Any help is apprectiated!

Maybe using a 6" square cake and then a 4" square? I imagine you can even carve out the shape using square cakes..... Good Luck!! It should be fun to do....but I am so glad its you and not me... I would be eating Excedrin after Excedrin....

I think that carving the cake would be the best bet. Pretzels would be a good idea but you could alos consider using Black Twizzler licorice the string pull apart type. I think that would work or maybe even making your pillars in a black royal icing and stand them up once they are dried.

Good luck and you might want to condsider the idea of stocking up on the Excedrin migraine! icon_razz.gif

Please post your pic once your done. I think that this is a great idea for a Halloween cake!!
