i have another bassinette cake this weekend and they may need to refrigerate it, will this be okay? i am afraid of cracking or condensation. do you think these will happen? please help !!
I don't think fondant can go in the fridge. If I'm not mistaken the only fondant that can be be put in the fridge is chocolate fondant. Maybe someone else can answer your question better. Sorry I wasn't much help
I think MMF would get all sticky and slimy because of the condensation. I've never tried it though... too scared.
thats what i was thinking too... better safe than sorry, i guess..thanks for the quick get back..
I refridgerated an all white MMF. HOWEVER, I sent it to work with my DH so am not sure exactly what happened. I did ask him and he said it was fine.
Maybe one day you should do if for a practice cake and see what happens.
I know this doesn't answer your question but thought I would let you know that I have refridgerated it.
I refrigerated a carrot cake last week that was covered in cream cheese icing with fondant carrots and pumpkins on it and they got a little soft and sticky..It was only for our family so it wasnt a big deal. Previously I had refrigerated a cake covered in fondant and it seemd ok.. I am wondering if it was the different kind of cake or maybe the cream cheese frosting.. I would think to be on the safe side try to make something that doesn't need to be refrigerated.
