Very pretty! Good job with the patterns. How did you space them? I always wondered about that because I have those patterns too and have been afraid to try to stick the pattern all the way around a cake and not have a pattern fit. Thanks.

Well that was the tricky part..lol I had to just place them lightly on the cake and if I got to close, I could just use my Viva papertowel to smooth and start over.. icon_lol.gif I love them and you can do much more on a bigger cake...that is my next step. icon_biggrin.gif TY for the nice comments.

Also to get your spacing correct there is a rond plastic thing that you put your cake on and it has guides for dividing your cake!!

They look pretty decent for. I know some people that still dont have The hang of them. Just practice. So pretty darn good for a 1st try. Keep it up

I have been known to cheat on the Wilton rose. LOL Sometimes I make my base just using the coupler. Other times I build my base up using tip 104. Or what ever tip I am making my roses from LOL... I did it right under my instructor's nose too. She asked me if I cheating again. And I said you betcha I am icon_biggrin.gif !!!! I even added a bit of piping gel to keep the edge of the petals together.

If my icing is working then I used the tip 12. Experiment, do what works for you.

They do kind of look like happy little puppy faces.
I like it thumbs_up.gif
Maybe that could be a theme to try for..on a kids cake or just any animal lover.

I like your cake! I have the little presses, too. But I have yet to use them. I like how you made the design on top the most. And yes, I do see the puppy faces, too! Your roses look really good. I am also a noncounter. It just seems more natural looking if you can see the rose coming to life w/o the exact # of petals. Does that make sense?
