This will probably only help you guys that have an air compressor already but I found a super cheap airbrush at Harbor Freight last week. They're regularly 9.99 (that's what they are on the website) but they're having an in-store special for $4.99. So I figured what the heck - why not give it a shot. I'm so excited! If this works, I may not ever have to color black icing again (at least not large quantities!)

I tried it out on regular airbrush paints, because DH wanted one to mess around with too, and though I wouldn't use it for fine art, it works pretty well for shading, so I'm going to pick up another one for just my cakes.

Of course, I already had a compressor to use it with, and that's really the most expensive part of it, but if you already have one, this may be a way for you to go. Also, please note that although it says it does, it does NOT come with the 1/4"-18NPT coupler for the air hose.

Nancy - here's the link to map to the San Antonio store. For $5, it's worth it, for $10 it probably would be too. You will also need to buy the coupler for $2.50, but maybe they'll give it to you if you point out it's supposed to be in there but isn't.
