k, so Saturday was my dads wedding. I agreed to make his wedding cake as a present. And the fact that I just love my dad and his new wife is awesome!!!! So he wants white cake with key lime filling, after I finally decide that I am going to use pie filling after testing all kinds of ideas. Now it is time to make the cake. Well my DH decides he is going to start his own cleaning business the week that I need to make this cake.(Which I am also quitye excited about) So I am helping him do that which sets me back so by Friday I am actually able to start making the cake. I had made the fondant flowers earlier in the week. I thought maybe now since I am runing out of time I would just use 3' pans and slice them twice to make them taller. No that did not work out as planned. Had to make more cakes. Then I had the 2 tops tiers filled iced and covered so I began the bottom tier. Everything is going great still have like 2 - 2 1/2 hours left . Well my roomate decides he is going to cook lunch.. not wa good idea while I am decorating a cake. So he is just in my way. I try to put the second layer of the bottom on and had to flip it because needed a crumb coat to keep the pie filling from seeping into the cake. and of course it broke and I dropped it. Well cried for a while then decided I could put it backe together well, with pie filling I guess it was not such a good becuse our air conditioner broke so the house started to get out and fondant and pie filling start melting. Alright time to go we live in a n historic town with cobblestone roads that are really bump with huge holes so driving down this road the cake staarts to slide. and the broken piece starts coming apart. we get it out I try to fix it but is a little crooked oh well. Then this caterer lady come out and starts putting purple flowers on it. When i approached her she said she thought it needed a little something. Well, first of all she did not want that little something extra on it she wanted simple. and second her colors were burgandy and ivory. so my aunt pulled the flowers off the cake and hid the in another flower arrangment. Get this the woman had the nerve to complain that we removed the flowers that were not even supposed to be there. Well they loved it and is crooked ness And of course it tasted great so that made up for it!! Sorry so long and thanks for listening stressful day!
