I am working on my website and I just have photos. No contact info at all(not legal yet) I thought if someone asked I could just give them my phone # and refer them to my site they can check my cake photos.

But I would like to put a statement on the home page saying that I am a home baker blah blah... because if I can pick up a customer now then so be it. Can someone help me out? I want to be honest without sounding negative. I'm drawing a blank. Does anyone have something on their website that I can reference when writing mine?

TIA

If you are going to give them your website address (via phone or face to face?) instead of posting contact info on your site, then maybe you could explain it then? Or just a blurb on your "About Me" page talking about how you love making cakes for your family, etc.

Happy Birthday Cocorum!! party.gif

I'm a bit computer stupid but do you give an email address on a website or something like that? They could contact you that way?

Hi cocorum, I am not in business as a baker, just hobby for me...so I am making a suggestion just as a regular person. The wording a "home baker" could be a turn off to some, people tend to think if it is not from a "professional bakery" it is not as good....how wrong they are. Maybe something along the line of... My home baked cakes are fresh, delicious, and made to order. Tired of ordinary, experience the extraordinary... fresh, home baked cakes. I am sure others will give you suggestions that will have more creative wording than I can. Also, would do as mjs stated, use email as a way of contacting you. I would set up a separate email account just for your cake business. Maybe make up some business cards or little thank you cards with your web address, this way folks that have received cakes from you can give potential customers your exact web addy. Good luck kiddo, you have the talent to make it in business.

Thanks hellie0h what you said gives me some ideas.

i think i might have my email address on the website. What I was going to do was make some cards with just my name and # give them to people I know or if I talk to someone that is interested just give them my card. I don't want to look like a business card (don't want to get in trouble) just a contact card and then tell them the web address.

or maybe put my email address on the card so it would read [email protected] (example) that way they have the web address without it looking too businessy
