I have a cake made that has an edible image on it and I cannot remember if it is ok to put in the fridge. They will not be coming to pick the cake up until Saturday and I'm not sure what I need to do. Can somebody help me with this problem? Thanks!!!!

Don't refrigerate! Just keep in a cool dry place. Otherwise it will bubble up or sweat.

If your home is warm and you have the cake stored air-tight, it might bubble. It will get very glossy if stored air-tight at room temp. If it's not stored air-tight at room temp., the image could dry out a bit and it's noticeable when eaten...like eating a thin, sweet paper towel.

I refrigerate all of my buttercream cakes that have an edible image on them. The images stay as perfect as the moment they were placed on the cake. I've never had any problems with running colors or sweating as the cake came to room temp because the cake doesn't get too cold in the fridge.

I've always had problems with edible image cakes left overnight at room temp. The image gets too glossy, bubbles or dries out.

Just my experience...
