Does anyone have any idea of what you could do to decorate a keylime pie for a grooms cake?

I can't think of any kind of icing that you would want on a key lime pie....why not make a fondant figure of something he is interested in and just place it on top.

This is a toughie.......

The few ideas I can think of is to make a dummy cake (sheet cake size) and decorate half with the groom's interests and place pie on other half. If not a dummy cake, just make some kind of table scene with pie surrounded by things that interest the groom as adven68 mentioned.
