Greased The Pan...forgot To Flour It...how Do I Get It Out
Decorating By bulldog Updated 4 Oct 2005 , 4:23pm by bulldog
Greased both pans, put in batter, started to bake. Just realized I forgot to also flour the pan. Will it come out or the pan? Any ideas? This is for a paid cake. HELP!!!
I would try to take it out of the pan shortly after you take it out of the oven. I wouldn't let it cool a whole lot... But I'm far from an expert. Hopefully someone knows if this will work or not...
I rarely flour my pans...I usually just spray them with Pam. My cakes never, knock on wood, stick. I have found, however, the hotter the cake, the more it sticks so allow it to cool a bit. HTH

Thanks for the help. Both cakes came out, and I am on my way. Have a good day, and may your cakes always come out of the pan
I know it's too late for you this time, but if you bake frequently, you might consider making up a batch of homemade cake release. Use equal parts shortening, oil, and flour (makes as much or as little as you need). Blend them well and stick them in an airtight container, and you never need to worry about greasing and flouring your pans again! Thanks to all who posted their experiences with the cake release, rookies like me never have to worry about a cake sticking!!
