Hi everyone....I already posted this picture to the galleries last night at 12 am, and not many people got to see it. I am posting it to the forum because I am VERY VERY proud of my husband and wanted to show him off!!
He and I are collaborating on a Cinderella cake for our niece at the end of the month. We are going to create a scene using a pumpkin shaped cake and little sugar sculptures. It is going to be when Cinderella turns back into the ragamuffin after midnight, and the carriage goes back into pumpkin form, and the horses go back into being mice. The "Cinderella" is a caricature of our niece, who happens to be a little red head with a cute pixie cut. Anyway, he started the sculptures, and here they are. The camera really does not do these little figures any justice, but I think you get the idea. He is not done (he has to complete the rest of Cinderella), but I couldn't wait to post. I'm a proud Wifey!!!
thanks for looking!!
Ellen
Those are truly amazing! You have every reason to be proud! I'll be looking forward to seeing more!
Good heavens!! ..talk about talented! Great job and I can't wait to see the finished cake!!
wow! I saw them last night and had to bring my DH in to see them too. I really wish we shared a hobby. I am not into flyfishing and he goes as far as to eat cake but that is it. You make a great team and I am sure a great cake!
I know how painstaking this is.....he's got to LOVE doing it! It shows in his work......
Give him a giant smooch!
He did a wonderful job on those. I can feel your proudness. Tell him to keep up the good job!
Wow those are fantastc sculptures.. Your hubby is an extraordinary artist. I can't wait to see the finished cake. What a team!

Thank-you all for your posts on this.......I am going to show him so that he gets the boost of confidence needed to continue producing the art. He gets very shy about his art, thinks he is not good compared to others, and then just doesn't do it. I think all of this praise from outside people will really make him realize how extraordinary he is and propel him to continue. Your kind words are MORE than appreciated. Thanks again.
Rightly so!! Those are AWESOME!!!!! How long did it take him to make them?? They are incredible!! I think he has a big sculpting future ahead of him!!
WOW!!

It took him about 2 hours for each mouse, and about 3 hours for Cinderella. He has a bachelors of fine art, but rarely does art ...he usually invests his energy into doing computer stuff, writing, or ranting about politics!! lol I am slowly but surely turning him onto the cake biz as he sees how artistic he could be with it. I think once he gets started, he'll be a force to be reckoned with!!
ellepal.
You'd better believe that he will be a force to be reckoned with.
How amazing..he should make some of the sculptures out of clay and make some silicone molds.
That IS the hot side market right now..lol
i cant wait to see your finished cake!! i wish my husband and ihad a similar hobby too. i cant complain though.. he's a printer and is THE best at making a color match.. what to add ..when to add it..etc..BE PROUD OF YOUR HUBBY ....HES THE ONLY ONE YOU'VE GOT..HAHAHA
WOW!! Tell your hubby he is doing a wonderful job!! Can't wait to see the finished cake!
Great job from a fellow buckeye who now lives in Arizona! Tell him to keep up the good work and can't wait to see the finished job.
