I am making a white cake with key lime filling for my dads wedding this weekend. I have never made key lime anything. Does anyone know of a good recipe or would a basic key lime pie filling work?

Hi and welcome! How about using a lemon custard and substituting lime?
Either by itself or mixing it with buttercream? I don't have a recipe though, maybe you can do a google search.

I made a cake last yr when we were down in Florida.. I just had a white cake and filled it with a key lime filling..
I mixed about 1/3 cup key lime juice with a can of eaglebrand milk and a large cool whip.. I frosted with whipped cream.. We ate it the same day so not sure how it would hold up..
