Hello everyone, I am stuck really bad. I have a cake order for today and I had no MMF made. I just made a batch and was wondering if I don't leave it set over night what would happen? Also, for some reason I couldn't mix all the icing sugar (about 1 1/2 cups less) now what?

I know don't panic but this will be my fist cake with fondant let alone with MMF.

Ok all please help me

Thanks Sylvie icon_cry.gif

I never get all the sugar mixed in so don't worry about that! Also I rarely is ever let it sit over night so go ahead and and use it today. No worries! Hope you cake turns out great. thumbs_up.gif

Thanks peacockplace. I know I should at least let it rest about 2 hours. Any longer and the cake won't be ready on time. I hope that is enough time tho.

Again peacockplace, thank you

Sylvie

I've done lots of MMF cakes. I ususally don't let it rest at all. I know that goes against the rules... but I've never had any problems.

I only ever let it rest 'til it's cool enough to work with. icon_redface.gif

Don't worry too much about letting it rest. I put my MMF on my cake the same day and it came out really well.!!!

You're fine, calm down. I have kept mine in the fridge for a least a week, so I am sure it is fine at room temp for a couple of days. There is nothing in there that will spoil!

Well the MMF performed well. I was able to roll it and put it on top of a ball cake.

Now my only problem is to get rid of the lines when I put it on and overlapped some of it.

Man I need a lesson in fondant.... sooooooooon!

Thanks everyone

I never use all the sugar either.

Sylvie- Can you cover up the creases with some decoration? We won't tell! icon_wink.gif

Well everyone here we go. I made the cake and yes I did hide the imperfections with clouds, or I should say that is what is was supposed to be. haha

Let me know what you think honestly, I want to learn from my mistakes.

Thanks Sylvie
