How do I make a Chocolate cake out of a yellow cake mix??? Has anyone tried it? I ran out of Chocolate cake mixes and only have yellow...I don't have time to run back to the store....I do have Cocoa powder

mrsfish...do you have any chocolate pudding??? I have used chocolate pudding and it worked great. However..if cocoa is all you have...I would give it a try. I read a post a while back that cocoa powder should be ok. The other thing that might work is a tub of chocolate icing. I have put chocolate icing in my batter before and it tasted great. I've made a chocolate cake out of a white cake mix before - I used the "Super Enhanced Cake Formula" recipe. It said to add 3 heaping tablespoons of cocoa powder & it worked just fine! You totally couldn't tell I started from white cake. Hope that helps!

Thanks everyone! I am going to try to just add 1/4 cup of Cocoa powder and taste it....if it needs more I will add Choco syrup. Then I'll tell you how it turned out. Hopefully...it will turn out great!
