I had a wedding for Sept. 24th that was cancelled due to Rita. Baked cakes on Thursday (22nd) and bride-to-be called Friday at 8:30 to cancel. Understandable!!! Talked with fiance and was told wedding was going to be on 10-9th. No problem--wrapped cakes well and put in freezer. Called bride-to-be last nite to reconfirm date and time. Bride-to-be tells me that they got married on Friday (23rd) since parents were down.
When I asked about reception and cakes, bride was surprised that I had already baked cakes since she cancelled Friday AM. Told bride at consultation that wedding cakes for Saturdays were baked on Thursdays and decorated on Fridays.
Now that I vented, I guess I will go ahead and decorate some way and take to churches for evacuees. Whew--feel better now. Thanks for listening!!!
I hope you at least got a deposit out of that one to cover for frustration!!
Nice to see you find the silver lining and donating to the hurricane victims!
